Three months after proclaiming "I'm going to Disneyland!" New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl XLII MVP (Most Valuable Player) Eli Manning finally made his appearance in Anaheim. The cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. also marked Manning's first public appearance with new bride Abby McGrew following their April 19 wedding. Manning was originally scheduled to appear at Disneyland the day after the 2008 Super Bowl, but had to postpone his visit—as well as an appearance on Letterman—when weather delays grounded his flight from the Scottsdale Airport.

Members of the Tustin, California Pop Warner football team were have to accompanied Manning during his February visit, and the Disneyland Resort invited the players back to meet with Manning. Though some parents expressed disapointment that their children were not able to ride in the parade as originally planned, the players seemed thrilled to have a private meet-and-greet with the MVP.

Shortly after Pixar Play Parade debuted in March in Disney's California Adventure park, a minor accident on the Bug's Life float caused Disney to cancel performances for about a week. When the parade returned, the entire Bug's Life section was missing, as were the stilt-walking chefs from the Ratatouille unit and the acrobats from the Toy Story unit. Alert readers noticed that the Bug's Life unit has returned along with the stilt-walkers, though the remaining acrobats are still missing.

With Steven Spielberg's fourth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise hitting theaters next week with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Disneyland has announced a number of new Adventureland activities promoting the fedora-hatted archeologist, including:
A brief Prince Caspian pre-parade is now running 20 minutes before scheduled performances of the Parade of Dreams at Disneyland. The pre-parade is composed of a group of standard bearers and Prince Caspian on horseback.

...We mistakenly reported last week that Disneyland's 2Fer offer ended on April 24, and MousePlanet reader Justin reminded us that the promotion had been extended to May 22. Tickets still expire 30 days from first visit.
...The Disneyland Resort raised parking rates last week to $12 for automobiles; $17 for automobiles with trailers, campers, RVs and limos; $22 for buses and tractor trailers.
...The first of the 2008 Grad Night events will be held at the Disneyland Resort this Thursday. The after-hours parties for high school seniors do not have much of an impact on the theme parks, but it is worth noting that middle school groups also visit the resort at this time of year to celebrate their own commencements.

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts.

AOCVCB 2-Day Bonus Ticket ($119/$100) – The discount (from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau) is $3 (adult) and $2 (child) and shipping on all orders is at least $10 (link). Costco Travel Packages – Many different travel packages including visits to Disneyland and Disneyland hotels are available through Costco.com. When purchasing a Costco Disneyland travel package, extras that will be included are: Mickey's Toontown Madness admission (currently available Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays, and Saturdays), a character breakfast per person, a $20 Disneyland Resort gift card, a collectible pin and lanyard, and a Costco luggage tag.

Disney Visa Free-Stroller Rental – If you have a Disney Visa card you can rent up to two strollers for free at either Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure. This offer is valid only at the Main Gate rental locations at each park.
Rainforest Cafe Safari Club – Membership in the Rainforest Cafe gets you a 10% discount on entrees for up to four people. It also gets you priority seating if available, which can make a huge difference on busy days. Additionally, after signing up, your membership card will be mailed to you and be accompanied by a $10 award good for your next visit to a Rainforest Cafe. So if you know you will be eating there while at Disneyland and have a Rainforest Cafe local to you, it may make sense to prejoin the Safari Club so that you can use the award during your trip. ESPNZone MVP Club – Membership in the MVP Club does not offer any discounts on food. However, once a member you can make an online reservation for your party up to three days in advance and will get a 25% increase in points purchased when playing games in the Sports Arena (and 40 bonus points at activation). You must register online and your membership card will then be mailed to you within two weeks. The card must then be activated at any ESPNZone by the person who signed up for the card and ID will be required (link)
AAA Restaurant Discounts – AAA (American Automobile Association) members can receive a 10% discount (excluding alcohol) at Plaza Inn, Wine Country Trattoria Ariel's Grotto, PCH Grill, and Goofy's Kitchen.
