Tip of the Week
This week's tip comes via Facebook from Jake Thompson, who suggests that you take a picture of the back of your PhotoPass card with your own digital camera. That way if you lose the card, you can still activate it online since you have the number you need.
Mark noted a number of other things that you can use your digital camera to keep track of, while Mike described another way to preserve the information.
Mark talked a bit about the video shown in the library and how Mark Silverman dubbed his voice over Rod Serling's image, and how the introduction was changed from the original.
Mark and Mike compared the two different versions of the Tower and what they prefer about each version.
The mailbag column where Steve Russo is told about why you should look to the side of the elevator while you're dropping is here.
Mark couldn't find it published elsewhere, but this is the photo of him and some friends staging their own photo op at the Tower during his 40th birthday trip.
Review System Spotlight
This week we take a look at the Hungry Bear Restaurant at Disneyland Park. MousePlanet readers really like it, rating it 4.1 out of five planets. Our featured review this week is by abfamily of Alberta, Canada.
abfamily and his family thought that the food was excellent and the prices were in line with expectations for theme park food, resulting in a 4-planet rating.
You can also find the Hungry Bear Restaurant in our Park Guide.
This week's Magical Moment came in a voicemail from Vicki from Starksboro, VT. After a cast member saw her young son's level of interest in the elephants at Kilimanjaro Safari, they got to ride again and her son was made an honorary wildlife spotter.
Last Week on MousePlanet
Andrew Rich, down at MousePlanet Global Headquarters told you what you may have missed on the MousePlanet site last week if you're not visiting regularly.
Brian Jonas wanted to know if the Pixie Hollow locations in Florida and California are the first attractions to be based on a direct-to-DVD movie. Mark gave a qualified answer since he had some questions about whether any previous direct-to-DVD movies were not direct sequels of a theatrical film.
Stuart Sternberg was pretty sure that Mike provided the same tip that Dave Wang did a couple of weeks ago, but Mark can't find it in any of hte previous show notes. If anybody knows which episode that appeared in, please let us know. Stuart also wanted to know what tips we have used that really worked well for each of us? Mark decided that we would limit our answers to one tip apiece. Mark's tip was to slow down to give you time to experience the little things that make the parks special. Mike's tip was to thank the cast members.
Shawn from Riverside called to give a strong recommendation for everyone to visit the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. Mark wondered whether Shawn from Riverside was brothers with Brian from Riverside and, if so, which of them is older.
Jonathan Shain asked for more information about MouseAdventure and whether or not he would be capable of competing in future years.
Gonzo from California called to add personal space in queue lines to our list of theme park etiquette. His wife especially hates when she moves up two feet and the person behind her moves up three, and she sometimes uses a backpack or purse to fend off "space invaders."
Finally, we also brought you the last parts of Dean from New York City's trip report phone calls. Mark was touched by Dean's "Tribute to the Fallen" tour, visiting the locations/attractions of this summer's cast member deaths. He also made a Jungle Cruise-type joke.
