Very enjoyable. I especially liked the slide-changing sound effect, a sound that most of the younger generation has probably never heard - a Kodak carousel slide projector changing slides. Nicely done!
You know, the sound seemed so natural with the slide-changing effect that I subconsciously accepted it without question. Well done!
Thanks guys. I still have my Kodak Ektagraphic projector, but the sound in the video is of my 1965 Sawyers straight-tray slide projector! It's much noisier than the Kodak, and I thought it would fit the transition better.
I know you won't believe this, but I really did think it sounded like one of the straight tray changers. We had this when I was growing up, and I have many fond memories of Slide Nights and Dad pushing and pulling that ol' manual changer!
Dan, I definitely believe you - the old straight-tray (i believe they were called TDC trays) had a very distinctive sound.
And boy do I miss slide shows as well. Even as a kid I used to love to see our friend's and relative's vacation slides and home movies projected onto a tripod screen. The is nothing quite like it to this day.
It's just not the same thing when you gather around a laptop or even a cell phone. Back then, the tv was off, the whole family was together, Mom made munchies - it was almost like a night at the movies, just watching slides!
