| Our retired guide on visiting the park. For current info, see Park Updates: Disneyland |
If you haven't yet seen our announcement page for MouseAdventure, you may want to visit it by clicking here first. This update serves to remind you that the first pre-registration period is set to expire on Monday, March 26. If you register before Monday the 26th, it only costs $15 per team. Registration costs rise as we get closer to the event, according to this schedule:
As part of this pre-registration special, though, we are extending the deadline for the first phase by a single day. So if you register on Monday, March 26, you can still get the cheaper $15 per team price. I've read the announcement page, but I still don't get it. What exactly is MouseAdventure!? It's a combination of scavenger hunt, puzzle solving, and team interaction competitions, all rolled into one event. You don't have to run around in a hurry (well, "walk" actually: running is not allowed), but if you want to win one of the many prizes then some amount of haste is called for. Teams are two to four adults. The Announcement Page has more details on what to expect, and what the timeline looks like, but here are a few examples of some puzzles/quests used in prior MouseAdventure competitions. These are given in no particular order, and be aware that they were worth varying points. Eye-Spy Signs (Parkwide) 1. Complete this phrase: “Race
Through the Universe ____________ ____________ ___________
____________” 1. What is America’s Fifth Freedom? 2. At the Fire Station, what can be found a few feet directly below the Mickey Mouse flag? 3. “Owlgebra” can be found near two kinds of hybrid animals. What are they? 4. At the hub, one of bronze Goofy’s fingers is touching his face. Which one? 5. At the Main Street Train Station is a typewriter, next to which are telegraphs. Find the letterhead for that paper. Which railroad is mentioned on the letterhead? You've probably heard that there are special windows on Main Street. To solve this next puzzle you'll need to locate windows based on the clue / name, and fill in the occupation (job title) for each person. Hint: be sure that the job title fits into the spaces provided. Then, assemble the letters indicated (if it says "8", then take the eighth letter) and unscramble them into a Disney-related word for your answer! 1. Elias = ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ (8) 2. Penfield = ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ (1) 3. Bright = ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ (5) 4. Kuri = ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ (8) 5. Leopold = ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ (6) 6. Meck = ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ (4) Final Answer: _______________________________ (since this isn't a question from the actual competition, here's the answer: TRITON) MouseAdventure typically features several sections of the smaller variety, some parkwide searches that keep you looking around all day, and then fifteen of the more targeted, puzzle-oriented quests like the final example "Main Street Windows" you see here. The sample questions are nice and all, but did I hear you mention prizes?Yes! Typically there is a wide variety of merchandise available on the winner's table, such as the new Brush with Disney book, DCA collectibles, music CDs, even MousePlanet hats!
