Most of the new photos from here on were taken 7/27 from the new
parking
garage, across West St. / Disneyland Dr. from the park. A kind reader sent
them
in, and they offer a whole new view backstage of the West area of the
park.
I've mixed in some of the older shots from this photo essay to let you
see
a more complete view of things.
Below is a new panorama of the area. The left of the picture is North -
the right
of the picture is South - across the way is East. All the trees you see in
the
middle of the shot surround the Rivers of America in Frontierland / New
Orleans
Square / Critter Country. Close-ups of key areas follow below.

Here, below, you can see the parade float barn. This is where the
old
floats go to die, or where they are reborn as new units. Sometimes
they
just remain in storage. Light Magic's units were kept here until
recently,
when they were demolished. [These next two shots are from the original
essay.]

Two Fantasmic units were being parked when these shots were first
taken
at the front of the warehouse - the Crocodile from the Peter Pan
segment,
as well as the inflatable Ursula, both of which you can see just above
the
fence. They were getting refurbished for the return of the show.

Slightly to the right of the above shot [a little South] you can see
one of the
Fireworks towers - and two of the launchers. When the new
"Believe" show
is underway - they ask you if you are backstage, to be under a canopy.
It's
because literally the whole area back there is subjected to falling
embers.
The yellow walls way in the back belong to the TDA building. This is a
newer shot.

In close-up below you can see the back of ToonTown - that's Mickey's
house
yet again under all those hills. Directly below that is the Circle D Ranch
area.
This would be the view slightly right to the above shot - a bit South in
this newer shot.

Let's now go to PAGE THREE of A Walk Around
the Berm with more new shots...
