The instructions on each page work with Windows 95/98 computers running either Internet Explorer or Netscape, versions 4 and later. Mac users should follow the steps below after choosing the proper resolution-size page to get the photos offered here onto their desktops: First, click and hold down the mouse on the picture, a menu will then appear. Second, choose "Save as..." from that menu and save the picture to your hard disk. Third, then open up the "Appearance" control panel, and choose the "Desktop" tab. Fourth, click on the button "Place picture." Fifth, browse from there to where you saved the image, open it up, then choose the "Set desktop" button. Voila! A lovely new Disneyland photo background. Mac users [and myself] should give special thanks to reader David R. who kindly e-mailed me the instructions detailed above!
All desktop wallpaper shots were taken by yours truly with a Sony Mavica FD-91 at 1024 x 768 "Fine" settings. The best of those images are then cleaned up and adjusted utilizing Ulead's PhotoImpact 4.2. There are a few touch-ups for color saturation, some cloning to remove any clutter or extend a shot out, and sometimes digital blurs are done to smooth out skies and paint scuffs. Brightness, contrast and focus is also usually applied. In one case there was the melding of two good shots to get a single better one. In another photo grime and dirt from a glass pane that was photographed through was removed with bucket and gradient "fill" tools. Photo, URL and copyright information is then added to each shot, and it is reduced in size with the PhotoImpact program to each screen resolution offered. JPEG compression is kept to a minimum by utilizing Ulead's JPEG Smart Saver. Usually this is done with settings at about 80% of original quality to help a bit with download times, while still retaining a better quality photo for your desktop. Do keep in mind all photos are taken and Copyright © by Al Lutz, and remain the property of same. They may NOT be used for any other purpose than as complimentary desktop wallpaper for your personal computer. All other uses, in particular the offering of these photos on other sites for downloading, is strictly prohibited. So play nice, OK? Keep in mind that any logos, area or attraction names involving the Disneyland Park / Resort complex and / or The Walt Disney Company as depicted within these photos are Copyright © The Walt Disney Company / Disney Enterprises. |
