The photo
montage below is taken from the opposite corner of the block, on
the intersection of Hollywood and Highland. The white building (right,
rear) is the newly refurbished Hollywood Renaissance Hotel which adjoins
the complex.

Let's enter
the complex the same way all the celebrities did at the Academy Awards,
via the Kodak Theater entrance. (The top floor above the entry is the
Grand Ballroom - available for use alone or in conjunction with events
at the theater. Wolfgang Puck oversees it. When the Oscars were held,
they blocked off the street in front of the theater and covered it all
in red carpet.)

Flanking each side of the
entryway is a listing of all the best picture winners (below).

Down the hall are the
steps leading up to the theater - which some Oscar attendees found to be
a problem to navigate in high heels. Ushers helped the few folks with
unforgiving footwear either up the stairs, or to a nearby elevator.
