I arrived as soon as the gates opened. I was hungry and as always, I have breakfast at the Cafe Portofino. There are basically two restaurants that serve breakfast here at TDS...The Cafe Portofino and the bakery next door. There are two selections of breakfast you can choose from. They come as set menus so you don't really have much choice. If you love bread, choose the bread menu. It consists of a croissant, a french roll and a sweet pastry type of bread. They were all tasty. The set also includes a small bowl of fresh fruits in season, a bowl of muesli with milk, fresh juice and coffee or tea for 1000yen. The second choice comes with a croissant, a small green salad, fresh fruit bowl, a plate with small portions of sausage, bacon, a slice of egg frittata, juice and coffee or tea for 1200yen. I'm a bread lover so I chose the bread set and my friend chose the other set.
I think the bread set is tasty and filling and recommend it.

For lunch and dinner, I recommend the delicious rotisserie chicken. In fact, that's their specialty. The chicken is basted and cooked on premises with herbs and spices. It is usually served with some baked new potatoes. The tomato soup here is very good also. My friend had the Salad Nicoise and he said that it was delicious. The salad, some bread and a glass of wine made for a perfect lunch.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is like a restaurant in a small italian fishing village. It is a very large restaurant but because of all the nooks and crannys and neat props, it feels warm, inviting and comfortable. On a warm and sunny day, sitting outside overlooking Portofino Bay is a wonderful way to spend an hour with a glass of wine.
