My husband and I had lunch at Magellan's in October 2003. It was a great experience all around. We sat in a small room off to the side of the normal dining room (I'm not sure what it's called - it's accessed through a sliding door, and resembles a wine cellar). I would definitely ask to be seated in this room! It was nice and quiet, not that the noise level in the main dining room seemed to be an issue. I had the chicken dish and my husband had steak. Both were exceptionally well done, as were the soups we had. My husband had a nice glass of red wine with his lunch, followed by an excellent port. A family seated near us had a young boy (perhaps six years old) who was celebrating a birthday. The staff made quite a big deal of the birthday, and a number of characters made a point of stopping by to wish him happy birthday. He seemed quite delighted by all the attention. The prices were reasonable for a sit-down lunch, and the service was excellent. The staff was very conciliatory, particularly to me (I was quite visibly pregnant at the time). Actually, everywhere we went at the resort for three days I was asked if I needed anything, given small tokens for the baby (stickers, etc.) and frequently offered seats by other guests. It was a wonderful vacation, and we can't wait to take our baby daughter back to see what she missed!
