The ambiance of this restaurant is incredible! The décor is eye candy for romantics! Enjoy the view because its all downhill from there. The first time we went in 1991 on our honeymoon. The service was slow. The food was so/so. The cheap Tequila I got in my ONE strawberry margarita put me back at the hotel the rest of the afternoon. We swore this place off. 10 years later, almost 3 months to the date, we decided to give it another shot. WRONG! Again the food was so/so. The service was lousy and consequently made us late to the Candlelight Processional. I guess an hour and a half isn't adequate time for dinner/desert in this particular restaurant - needless to say my husband was livid! In 10 years nothing changed expect they managed to squeeze double the tables in this limited space. We really mean it this time NEVER AGAIN!

The San Angel Inn has to be one of the most beautiful restaurants in all of Disney. The marketplace is lovely, and the restaurant overlooking the boat ride and smoking volcano under night skies is stunning. The atmosphere makes this the ultimate romantic place to dine. The food was average, but the prices were not! The food wasn't bad, just not great. We ordered a combo platter(taco, burrito, and mexican salad) and enchiladas. I would proboly give it another try just to dine in these wonderful surroundings.

By far, San Angel Inn has the greatest atmosphere of any restaurant at WDW. You really have the feeling of being in an open air Mexican marketplace at nighttime. The salsa is delicious. Our waitress even brought us a container of it to bring back to our hotel room (no extra charge). The food is delicious. The margaritas are great. This is a great place to dine to feel like you are really escaping to another country.
