The Grand Floridian is truly a beautiful hotel. It stands out as a jewel on the Seven Seas Lagoon. The pool facilities (2 of them) as well as the sandy beach are a great plus for the resort, as well. The service I experienced on my trip was fine, but nothing over-the-top. Having previously stayed at Hotel Miracosta in Tokyo, the service at the Grand Floridian just doesn't measure up, but not much in America does, I'm sure. We stayed in a Lagoon View room which ended up having a view of the Wedding Pavillion and not much else, but was still nice. The hotel has the premeire restaurants on the property, but I'd steer clear of the Fast Food stand and Arcade, Gasparilla's Grille, it doesn't do the hotel justice. The monorail provides a great convenience, of course, and the shops in the hotel's lobby are probably among the best of any WDW hotel. The rooms themselves are decent sized but can best be described as 'like staying at grandma's house'. The decor was a bit too frilly for my tastes, but very nice none-the-less. Overall, a great hotel, but for the price (and it's a big one) I'd choose the Wilderness Lodge.
