I have a hard time using words like best and favorite, but this may be my favorite activity from our 2005 WDW trip. We met outside the Epcot gates, and were led past the pumps and filters backstage before entering the back of the pavilion. After watching an intro video, we were assigned lockers, where our gear was waiting. The only personal item allowed is a mask; good for those that need vision correction.
Wetsuits are shorties, and the water is a bit cool, but I quickly accustomed. They don't skimp on weight, I dropped faster than congress's approval ratings. We were led to various photo ops, and then allowed to roam freely. I was uncharacteristically outgoing during this time. Inspired by all the flashes popping around the tank. I took to sneaking up to the restaurant, doing flips, etc. It was really relaxing to not worry about currents, vis or "where's the boat?".
My only complaint? Before the dive, we were told that after the set shots, we could get the videographer to shoot footage of ourselves with any friends/family watching. I spent a lot of time looking for this person, only to find he left the tank after the set shots to prepare the DVD they wanted us to buy. Obviously, this should be settled before the dive. As it was, the DVD looked like a private video for the couple "doing this the 7th time". So I was a bit annoyed, and the mouse lost a sale. When the boy gets certified, and we do this together, that will be corrected.
If you're a diver, this is a fun dive, even more than expected.
