Monorail Trip through Disney's California Adventure (page 3)

Visit the SUPER PANORAMA PAGE and SUPER PANORAMA PAGE 2 for larger views of the Paradise Pier section of the new park.

Photos in this new section were taken 1/4 by Karl Buiter using a Sony TRV-900.  Some older shots were taken 12/3 by Al Lutz using a Mavica with special assistance from David Lane on another Mavica and Bruce Bergman with a regular film camera. All shots are of California Adventure and were taken from the monorail.

Below is another wonderful view you now get from the monorail - this is a backstage area between the Muppet theater and the buildings that border the entry plaza. You can see the elephant icons for the entry to the Hollywood gate (a little too reminiscent of the "Mammoth Pictures" logo used in the animated Turner film "Cats Don't Dance" ).

Below is another Disneyland Publicity art piece - this gives you an idea of what the entry will be like once it is finished.

Here's the view into the entry area of the park as you cross the Golden Gate Bridge - note the sun icon (which Al still says looks like a hubcap) over the fountain. The "Bug's Life Theater" is behind it in the hangar looking building. The Hollywood area is to the left, the Condor Flats area to the right. Yes, this is a very small park.

To the immediate right of the entrance to California Adventure, just past the Golden Gate bridge, is Engine Ears Toys.  Railroads played a major role in the history of California.  Along side the store is a replica of the rounded end observation car for the California Zephyr.  Yes, this store is a hobby shop, and trusting that Imagineers are good railroad modelers, I can only hope we'll find proper representations of this hobby.
