The Grand Californian Hotel is the new
luxury hotel for the Disneyland Resort. Much of the design (as well as
much of the floor plan) borrows from the Wilderness Lodge. In the shot
below, you can see its location between the two parks (that's the
Matterhorn behind it) - with the adjacent mall on the middle left of the
photo

While the exterior isn't as well designed as
the Wilderness Lodge, (they really missed it here) the real appeal of
this hotel lies when you glide on past the stained glass electric entry
doors into the main lobby
The Main Lobby
Although the space is the same in size as
the Wilderness Lodge - the theme is California Craftsman. The level of
detail, and fit and finish shown, are quite remarkable. Get ready to
scroll down a bit here...

The view above is looking towards the front
of the hotel - where the check in desk is located, it's taken from one
of the middle floors. Below you can
take a look across the lobby sideways... (looking to the elevators)

Below is another view up from the lobby
floor into the high ceiling...

The intricacy of the design makes for all
sorts of unique vistas as you circle around this main room at
different levels... they do have nice stairways from the sixth
(Concierge) to the fifth levels, but all other travels between floors
require use of the elevators
