It has been a busy week.  I took an early night to get some rest, and by early morning was already fast thinking about our upcoming coverage of the opening.  Piecing together some of the latest news, it struck me - the main gate walls had to be down this weekend.  So grabbing the camera, I hopped into the car and drove down to the park, not to collect pins or get tickets to Candlelight, but to.. check on a hunch.

As I entered the main ticket plaza the main theme of Star Wars heralded what I suspected - the walls were down.  There were scores of cleaning people hosing down tiles near the letter sign, driving a Zamboni-like device, and working all over the scaled Golden Gate bridge.  Then with a music change over to the Muppet Show main theme, off I went on a small photo journey.
