Free Computer Desktop Wallpaper

First pick a favorite photo from the ones offered below, then match one of the two screen resolutions offered underneath each photo to the settings your monitor uses and click on it. [Larger monitor resolutions should use the 1024 x 768 size for now.] You are taken to a page to get it onto your desktop. [Mac users please see the side bar for instructions.]

If you have a favorite picture, make sure you hold on to it; new shots may rotate into the spots below as time permits.

The instructions on each page work with Windows 95/98 computers running either Internet Explorer or Netscape, versions 4 and later.

Mac users: Choose the resolution size you want, then follow these steps:

1. Click and hold the mouse button on the picture until a menu appears.

2. Select "Save as..." to save the picture to your hard disk.

3. Open the "Appearance" control panel, and select the Desktop tab.

4. Click on the "Place picture" button.

5. Browse to the location where you saved the image. Open it up, then choose the "Set desktop" button.

A lovely new photo background appears.
