Character Meals

Plaza Inn Princess Breakfast - Disneyland

Cinderella, her Fairy Godmother and a host of Disney royals moved into the Plaza Inn in November 2004 to introduce Disneyland's first Princess Breakfast. Jasmine, Prince Ali and Beauty and the Beast fill out the royal lineup, while Mary Poppins and Mulan make guest appearances.

The restaurant is divided into four "zones," two inside and two outside on the patio. Characters rotate between these zones, and some have scripted performances at certain cues - watch for Belle and Beast to waltz when "their" song comes on, of for the Fairy Godmother to teach little girls to curtsey.

The menu has been altered to suit the new royal inhabitants, and the Victorian setting of the Plaza Inn provides a perfect backdrop for the meal. The buffet now includes a hash brown scramble station and “swan” cream puffs. Continuing the trend, yet another new French Toast dish is available.

Partial list of buffet items:

"Beastly" covered and smothered hash-brown station: fresh fried hash browns covered with your choice of gravy, cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage, ham, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, jalepenos and salsa
Biscuits and gravy
Swan puffs
Bacon and sausage
Egg white scramble
Cheese blintzes
Cold cereal - Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes,
Yogurt and granola
Caramelized French toast with powdered sugar
Omelet and scrambled egg station
Fresh fruit station
Bread station, including bagels and danish

Breakfast service begins at 8:00 am -or- 30 minutes before Disneyland opens each day, whichever comes later. Breakfast service ends at 11:00, and the last priority seating is 10:30. Priority seating reservations are defintely recommended. Walk-up seating may be available, but diners with PS reservations have first dibs on tables inside the restaruant, while walk-up diners will be seated on the outside patio.

Breakfast is $21.99 for adults, $11.99 for children 12 and under, and comes with a Princess Breakfast button.

Goofy's Kitchen - Disneyland Hotel

Goofy's Kitchen was the first dedicated character meal location at the Disneyland resort. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the location has a reputation for high prices, noise and mediocre food.

Fortunately, restaurant management has been addressing two of these issues. While retaining the energy of a character meal, the volume of the atmosphere music has been turned down several notches. The chefs have added a whole range of new food offerings, including healthier options and some ethnic variations. Unfortunately, this is still the most expensive character meal in the resort.

Breakfast / brunch service begins at 7:00 am and ends at noon on weekdays, 2:00 on weekends and holidays. The cost is $27.25 for adults, $14.86 for children 11 and under. (Prices include tax)

Dinner is offered from 5-9 daily. The cost is $35.92 for adults, $14.86 for children 11 and under. (Prices include tax)

Priority seating reservations are strongly recommended, but walk-up seating may be available.
