Golden State

The Golden State area is a bit confusing because it has several parts and each has its own name. Though technically one big "land," the area consists of Condor Flats, The Grizzly Peak Recreation Area, San Francisco, and Pacific Wharf. Each of these areas is representing a region of Northern California (except Condor Flats which is more in the Mojave desert) and offers one or two items of interest.

Location: Either beyond "a bug's land" or to the right as you enter the park (both routes join at the entrance to Paradise Pier.

Boudin Bakery — Learn how Boudin makes their famous sourdough bread hosted by Rosie O'Donnel.
Golden Dreams — A film history of California, hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.
Grizzly River Run — You'll definitely get soaked on this whitewater rafting ride.
Mission Tortilla Factory — Learn the history of maize, see tortillas get made, and then try a sample.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail — A giant ropes playground set in the giant forests of northern California.
Soarin' Over California — Visit California's varied geography in this hangglider simulator.

Entertainment and Shows - Hide Section

Chip 'n Dale — Meet two of your favorite Disney characters.
The Magic of Brother Bear Totem Ceremony — A small stage show on finding every person's inner totem.

Dining - Hide Section

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill — Counter service Mexican food using the tortillas made fresh next door.
Pacific Wharf Cafe — Sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts. Emphasis on the sourdough breadbowl.
Taste Pilot's Grill — Burgers and the like in this aviation themed restaurant.
The Vineyard Room — Elegant Mediterranean fare in a relaxed atmosphere.
Wine Country Trattoria — Nice outdoor dining overlooking the walkways of Golden State.

Other Locations: Rita's Baja Blenders offers margaritas and non-alcoholic drinks while over at Sam Andreas Shakes near Bountiful Valley Farm some very good milkshakes are available. Over by the winery, Terrace Wine Tasting offers samples of California vintages. Lucky Fortune Cookery still appears on some listings, but it has not been open in a couple years.
