Walt Disney World Tickets

Paradise Pier

Paradise Pier is, in its way, maybe the most controversial land at a Disney theme park. For some, the theme of a turn-of-the-century boardwalk amusement park flies in the face of Walt Disney's states ideals when creating Disneyland. But most visitors don't care about such questions so long as they have fun and Paradise Pier has the most rides of any land at the park. The faux-"woody" California Screamin' roller coaster moves into the giant Sun Wheel ferris wheel, and then there is a large kiddy-ride section at the other end.

The days of the current Paradise Pier appear to be numbered however, as it is the focus of current discussions for major retheming at Disney's California Adventure. Though not yet announced, a new Pixar-based Midway Mania dark-ride is expected in 2008 in the shadow of California Screamin' and after that entire swaths may be taken out and rethought.
