Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We were traveling with an 8 year old and a 2 year old, so we wanted the convenience. And, there are no off-site hotels that compare to the atmosphere of a Disney Resort Hotel. We have stayed at this Resort several times before, and we have always enjoyed it.

Room # and Location Description:

Room 2814 - 10th floor of the Marina Tower, overlooking the Neverland Pool. The rooms have been remodeled since the last time we stayed, and we found it to be quite comfortable for the 4 of us. The room was large, with 2 queen beds, a desk, a table with 2 chairs, and a large armoire with the television and refrigerator in it. Also, the bathroom was very good sized, and had a separate toilet room, and a separate vanity area outside of the bathroom. Room was decorated nicely with Disney wallpaper, and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Great location for view of the pool. We were also able to see and hear the hotel's "dancing waters" show which is located way back in the corner of the resort. Also, if we leaned over the balcony a little (which probably isn't a real good idea on the 10th floor), we could see Downtown Disney to the left.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

We got there at about 1:00 and after waiting about 20 minutes, we were told that they did not have us listed as checking in until the following night. After traveling all morning with a 2 year old, this was NOT good news. I was very agitated because I had called the hotel twice since making my reservations, just to confirm, and I was told each time that everything was confirmed. We even showed them the confirmation that we received in the mail, showing that we were to arrive on that day. They finally found us a room on the 10th floor, overlooking the parking lot, BUT, we had paid extra to get a room with a "guaranteed" view of the pool, on floor 6 or higher. We were told that they did not have one of those rooms available for us on that night, but that the following day we could move to another room that they would save for us. We were not real happy about this because this meant that we could not unpack anything, and we would be inconvenienced the following day by having to move again. After about 4 phone calls, a Manager came up to our room, and AMAZINGLY, she found us a room, that night. After all this confusion was over, we had a wonderful time.

WDW Transportation Comments:

We only used the monorail a few times, and only because my daughter liked to ride it. I thought it was much more convenient to just walk to the parks through Downtown Disney. Also, because of all of the room confusion when we checked in, they failed to tell us that we needed to show our room charge card (the one they give you to charge things at the Resort to your room) to get on the "express monorail" back to the hotel area for hotel guests only. Because we did not have it with us, we waited for about 45 minutes in line just to catch the monorail back to the hotel.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We ate breakfast at Goofy's kitchen...fun for the kids, and the food was good. We also ate burgers and chicken strips at Crocs "n Bites, which was kind of fun.

Pool Description / Comments:

WONDERFUL pool area!!! The only one that my son ever enjoyed more was "Stormalong Bay" at the Disney Yacht and Beach Club at Disney World in Florida. The water was nice. Only complaint, very crowded, and difficult to find chairs.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

If your budget allows a stay at a Disney Resort, go for it! I love Disney, and the atmosphere for the children is priceless. I have also stayed at Paradise Pier (when it was the Disney Pacific), and we walked through the Grand Californian. In my opinion, the Disneyland Hotel is the most fun.

Other Comments:

Even with the confusion with our room, we had a GREAT time!! I will definitely be staying here next year when we go back. The staff was very friendly.
