Accommodations Review:

Wonderful!! I could tell the room was recently redone. Very comfortable and large. King bed. Double sinks. New fridge. This was a corner room, I have stayed in other rooms at DLH - on higher floors, which I paid more for - and this was by far the nicest room yet. Being a corner room it is much larger. Plus, it got cleaned first! From now on at this hotel, I am requesting a corner room, king bed. There was also a couch that folded out into a bed.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

Availability, price

Room # and Location Description:

#2136 - Third Floor of Sierra tower over looking the pool. This is the location to stay at, IMO. When you step out of this tower you are right in Downtown Disney on one side and the pool on the other, no bad views that I could tell.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Being on a lower floor, we could hear some of the people outside, not really much of a problem. It is not close to Goofy's or the coffee kitchen over there or the workout area/beach (you could easily/quickly walk to these). But is close to the pool, walkway to Downtown Disney and monorail, Hook's Point restaurant, a bar and take out food.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check in was wonderful. We arrived early and they allowed us early check-in. I always request it when I make my reservation. We checked in about 1pm. Also, checkout can be via telephone - very simple if you don't need to argue about something - otherwise you go to the desk.

WDW Transportation Comments:

Walking there now is very easy and it's a nice walk through Downtown Disney. Probably faster than the monorail. I don't like the monorail situation now. It is always packed. Also, they boot you out at Tomorrowland, so if you want to make "the loop" to see the new park, etc you have to wait back in line. A real bummer to the hotel guests I think. However, if you board in Tomorrowland they don't boot you at Downtown Disney. Which I think is a real dis-service to their hotel guests. What I mean is, when the monorail finally comes to DD, it's *packed*, they don't make everyone get out and hardly anyone does. Therefore, half the hotel guests need to wait for a second monorail. Also, being too packed taking a stroller on is even less fun than it used to be! =)

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We had excellent service a nice meal and no waiting at lunchtime in Hook's Pt. We went to Goofy's first and there was a 90 minute wait.

Pool Description / Comments:

Well, it was raining and extremely cold, so we didn't use it. But there were still people in the pool!! It's nicely heated and I guess they are braver souls than I.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Stay at the Sierra tower. Also, we were quoted $189 for Fri and $238 for Sat over the phone. I declined staying on Sat. But, when we checked in I asked if I could get the same rate for another night and "voila" it was available. I am from San Diego though, and it wasn't devastating to us not to stay Saturday.

Other Comments:

Not hotel related but; this was a nice trip, and we never went to DCA. (In March I plan on staying at the new hotel and visiting that park.) But I didn't miss it this trip, even with all the propaganda you get from everywhere about this park. I never heard any guest talking about it. Not like you hear them talking about the kids meeting the princesses or how they have to hurry to get to X ride. Once you are in DL, it's like that park isn't even over there - kinda weird.
