Accommodations Review:

The room we were in was renovated and was very, very nice. Everything was kept very clean and nice, and we were treated very well during our stay.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

I have stayed with family in southern California on previous trips and I wanted to get the whole "Disney experience", especially with the new park and downtown Disney now making it more of a resort destination.

Room # and Location Description:

Marina Tower, 7th floor Room 2503 It was very nice, a renovated room with lots of wonderful little details, like the glow in the dark Tinkerbell border around the room. I don't want to spoil all the cool details for those who have not stayed in the hotel, but it is very nice.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Our room had a great location. We could see the fireworks show from our bed, and we had a view of the Matterhorn and splash mountain from our room. It was a little farther from the elevators than most rooms, but that turned out to be a plus because we had less foot traffic near our room.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Check in was busy because we checked in on a Saturday at around 1pm. It was a relatively quick check in given the flow of people because we waited only about 15 minutes to get to the counter. Service was friendly and informative and our room was ready at that time, which was nice because we had a very early flight to California and needed to rest.

DLR Transportation Comments:

When you do use early entry, I recommend taking the monorail into the park because the front gate is packed with people waiting to get into the parks. We mostly walked to the park through downtown Disney because it did not take long and the shops are cool. Also, it was nice to use the monorail express to bypass the standby line when we were on our way back to the hotel.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We got burgers from Croc's bits n' bites the day we checked in at the hotel and it was "cheap" and pretty good food that we took back to our room to eat. We also got late evening snacks there because they closed at like 10pm or 11pm. Also, we tried to eat breakfast at Goofy's kitchen but it was very busy on Wednesday, which surprised us. There was a 50 minute wait, so we had the front desk cast member call Breakfast with Minnie and Friends and there was a 10 minute wait. We walked to the Paradise Pier Hotel and the wait was 5 minutes - we walked right in and had breakfast with Minnie. The breakfast was very good and the Characters were very available to the children. There were songs and the characters danced with the kids - Pluto even led a conga line of kids around the restaurant. If you need a quiet meal go somewhere else; but your kids will love you if you take them here to eat because of the extensive character interaction. The price was steep - I paid $45 for 2 adults and 1 child to eat breakfast, however, you get a button for each person and the experience for the kids is really special (and the food is better than what you can get in the parks, so fill up).

Pool Description / Comments:

The pool was quite nice, one of the real perks of staying at this hotel. If you have the time, it is worth it to jump in and cool off. The cove pool was an excellent alternative to the main "peter pan" theme pool if you want a more relaxing atmosphere. My son loved playing in the sand near the cove pool. It was wonderful.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

Look for a deal or special if you can get one because this hotel is not cheap. That said, this hotel is well worth it because it keeps you in "the magic", it had many wonderful perks, and its extreme proximity to the parks cannot be overstated. Once you stay at the Disneyland hotel, it would just hurt to stay anywhere else but a Disney hotel in Anaheim when you visit the Disneyland Resort.

Other Comments:

Please read all the materials you receive when you check in to the hotel. Most information you need is in the materials - also, when you get your room charge card (1) always carry it with you as a security measure, and (2) READ IT, it tells you that it is your monorail express pass. It is unacceptable for people to complain to cast members about things they are ignorant of because they FAILED TO READ.
