Accommodations Review:

There was a small balcony which was nice. We had had 2 queen beds and I think DLR has great beds at each hotel. It was a large room. The bathroom was well appointed, dbl sinks, very nice amenities, shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath, facial soap and body soap of "spa" quality. Lots of closet space, included robes. The fridge is a minibar with a tiny compartment available for your personal use, different than the DLH and PP. The decor is woodsy, very sedate and nice. I didn't get a huge DISNEYLAND feeling like I do at the DLH; but it's still nice and there are character prints on the walls. There was a "turn down" svc, which I really love!

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We hadn't stayed there yet and got an okay price for it.

Room # and Location Description:

3121, it away from DD and DL towards DLH except you couldn't really see the other hotel you looked out over a roof. I would say this part of the hotel has essentially no view.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

Was an easy walk down the stairs to the lobby which is so beautiful! Easy access for the story time, sitting by the fireplace, piano music and walk to DD. The only con was the view, but it didn't matter much to us.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

The check in was quick but I had been told I was getting a King room w/a DD view and I obviously didn't have that. When I commented on this nothing was done to rectify the situation which I thought was odd for Disney. Especially since this was just after the terrorist attack and honestly the hotel was *empty* as was all of DLR. Checkout was painless, they slip a receipt under your door and if that's okay they just charge your card. BTW, I tried to do the call ahead check-in that they describe on your hotel confirmation, and the number was busy they said they would call back and they never did.

DLR Transportation Comments:

Well, I think they are terrible. BUT, you don't have any of those issues here because you just walk right into DCA and DD and it's an nice stroll over to DL, easy as pie. It's wonderful.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We ate dinner the first night at Storyteller, it was wonderful! A great restaurant, yummy. We also ate there in the am for the character breakfast which is a little different than Goofy's in that characters don't come to your table and there is only 3 of them. My son enjoyed it and it was delicious, but I thought it was overpriced. Everyone really liked Storytellers.

Pool Description / Comments:

Great Pool. You must go! They have slides even for the little ones. They have kid sized life vests.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

It's a great resort. I think that the location to DCA and DL make it the definite crown jewel of DLR. It is sophisticated and honeymooners or corporate types would like this hotel. There are plenty of restaurants in DD that are walking distance also.

Other Comments:

If you have kids, try the Story time. It's short enough to hold the attention span of the very young and the adults can have some wine by the fire while the kids are entertained. Also, they seemed to have other kid type events in the lobby from time to time.
