Accommodations Review:

I liked the accommodations. We had a King bed, with a couch available. I think it even pulled out to a bed. Very nicely decorated with Hidden Mickeys that popped out at me after 2 days in both the wallpaper and the bedspread.

Why Did you Select This Resort for your Stay?

We got a "deal" on the concierge svc. It was my birthday and we wanted to splurge on it and DL Hotel was booked. Also, I am nosey and never stayed here before.

Room # and Location Description:

1416 Had an awesome view of DCA over Paradise Pier. King Bed. TV/VCR, coffee maker, couch. Could see some fireworks.

Room Location Pros & Cons:

View was wonderful, however, you do hear the park at night. Even just the empty rides going by as they work on them after closing. Air conditioner was noisy.

Check-In / Check-Out Comments:

Went to concierge lounge to check in. Was very nice. I got a glass of wine while I checked in, DH and son got refreshments also and watched TV. They called the bellhop for our luggage for us.

Disneyland Resort Transportation Comments:

They are lousy. I am sorry Disney, but this is a mess. They do have a Fastpass on the Monorail now Yahoo! The lines going back at any time are a joke, I haven't seen Fastpass offered on the return to DTD, but maybe it was. BUT, if you are at Paradise Pier, you have a long walk to take before you can even reach the Monorail. I have a 2 yr old which means I need the stroller before I even get to DL. Stroller + full Monorail = no fun; so, I ended up walking the whole way, most times. There is a double-decker bus that can take you to DTD from Paradise Pier, but it is rarely there and you are already basically to DTD when you can catch it. Also, not stroller friendly. This bus seems to be a secret. I asked about it at the hotel and I was told there is no transportation to DTD. I actually asked the driver and she said I needed to ride it to the M&F Parking then back to DTD. DISNEYLAND BRING BACK THE TRAMS! I paid too much money for that amount of walking, you are better off staying off site, at least they will shuttle you. This doesn't apply of course to DCA.

Restaurant / Lounge Review:

We did the Practically Perfect Tea and loved it. Highly recommended, but don't expect it to fill up a big eater. We didn't do the character breakfast at PCH Grill, but I noticed they said the characters are now Minnie, Daisy and ?. They must have recently changed it. The concierge lounge was nice. A cont breakfast in the am, wine, cheese & hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon and eve. (We made a light dinner out of this twice) and a fridge to grab sodas, juice and water. We didn't have to buy any in the parks. Very nice. They have a video check out svc also.

Pool Description / Comments:

Basic pool, but it's large and nicely set up. There is shade for sitting in and drink svc. You can use DL hotel pool, but not GC according to CMs.

What Suggestions Would you Give Anyone that is Considering This Resort?

The hotel is nice, the restaurants seem great. But I won't stay again unless they come up with a real shuttle idea. If you have a mobility problem and want to go to DL, I would stay elsewhere. However, going to DCA is easy. It might actually be easier to cut through that park and go to DL from there. I have an AP for DL only so this wasn't an option for me.

Next time.........Grand Californian!! Who Hoo!
