Adventure Travel

I suppose that most DVC members prefer to spend their points visiting their home resort and the other Vacation Club resorts each year. However, some folks do like more variety in their vacationing. To cover that base, the DVC has a series of Adventure Travel Programs. These programs are adjusted each year, so you can't assume that any specific option will be available from year to year.

The cost in points for participating in any of these trips is pretty high. A week-long whitewater rafting trip, for example, can cost as many points per person as a two-week stay at OKWR.

Among the options that are typically offered are whitewater rafting trips, safaris, scuba and snorkeling expeditions, cruises, and others.  Just some examples that have been offered in recent years include:

Eco-Trips:

  • African Safari, Tanzania
  • Galapagos Islands
  • Costa Rica

Rafting Trips:

  • Rogue River
  • Grand Canyon
  • Main Salmon River (camping or lodge trips available)
  • Middle Fork, Salmon River

Biking Trips:

  • Canadian Rockies (inn and camping trips available)
  • California Wine Country
  • Tuscany, Italy
  • Loire Valley, France
  • Shenandoah Valley, Virginia
  • Southeast Vermont

Cruises:

  • Disney Cruise Line
  • Holland America (Caribbean, Alaska)
  • Premier (Bahamas)
  • Carnival (Bahamas, Caribbean, Alaska)
