I'm surprised that no one mentioned in the previous
reviews that this place uses standard-length beds. If you're
at least 5'7" and sleep flat on your back, you feet will
likely stick out. Maybe the sizes are optimized for the
children? Maybe they want you to feel like an NBA star? ;-)
The mattresses were also of the "less-support" variety and the
springs tended to creak when you moved. If you're lucky enough
to get a "courtyard" view room, you'll get the noise from the
pool, the noise from Harbor Blvd, and a great view of the
fireworks. Otherwise, you get a great view of the highway and
the noise from the highway. Unlike other Fairfield Inns, this
one does not serve free continental breakfast. They've instead
substituted a snack shop on the third floor. At least there's
a diner ("Millie's") and McDonalds next door (both of which
offer room service for a minimum-charge order). The rooms are
at least new(er) and seem roomier but that's partly because of
the smaller beds. I thought that the Candy Cane was a tad more
cramped but I was thankful for the extended-sized beds. The
plus was that it was a shorter walk to the pedestrian entrance
to the park. If you're a good walker, this isn't a big factor.
Amenities were clean and room service was prompt and
efficient. A small fridge was included in the room. At other
motels, you sometimes have to pay extra for that. |

If you want good beds, try the Candy Cane Inn. If you want
good beds and silence, you may have to pay the premium for the
Disneyland
Hotel. |
