Accommodations Review:
|
The room had a typical two-double-bed arrangement, but also had a desk
and a small round table (that came in handy when I wanted to use the
laptop). The room was nicely decorated, did not appear to be
excessively worn, and was quiet (I never heard anyone outside the room and
although Harbor was literally just a few feet from our room, we never
heard traffic noise).
We were in room 379, which was directly on Harbor. A pop and ice
machine were located in the breezeway just across from our room
door. We were able to see Space Mountain, the Matterhorn, and other
park icons as well as the Disneyland hotel and California Adventure
construction site from our window. That was the positive. The
negative aspect of this room was that it was located as far from the
elevators (which we used because of the stroller we were lugging) as any
room could be. The elevators are located in the middle of the long
building, so we had to walk from our room AWAY from Harbor to the elevator
and back - approximately the full length of the motel, each time we walked
to the park. At the beginning of our stay, I thought that the
walking would be a pain, but it turned out to be a non-factor.
For the record, the rooms numbered in the low 100's are the ones
closest to the park.

# of Restaurants/Lounges:
|
Mom's Restaurant is located next door and provides a free continental
breakfast for motel guests. The restaurant is also home to a
Dreyer's Ice Cream Shop, so you can buy a cone or sundae from a walk-up
window or from the restaurant menu if you'd like to sit down. |
Restaurant/Lounge Review:
|
We enjoyed the continental breakfast that is set up in the restaurants
large upstairs room. We never used the menu service of the
restaurant except for an ice cream snack one night. The confections
were good, but the service was average (not bad, just not excellent). |
Amenities / Facilities / Activities Available:
|
Sundries Shop, Pool, Hot Tub, Sauna/Steam
Room, Laundry, Handicapped Accessible Rooms, Non-Smoking Rooms,
Smoke Detectors, Fire Sprinklers. |
Pool Description/Comments:
|
The pool is located on the South side of the ground floor, halfway from
Harbor to the back of the motel. The hot tub is close to the pool,
under an overhang, so it catches absolutely no rays on sunny days (you
decide if that's good or bad or neutral). |
Other Comments:
|
The motel has a nice lobby and gift shop, exterior hallways, and 199
rooms. The service provided at check in and check out was very
friendly and helpful. I bought our park passes here, and we enjoyed
the use of the five-day flex passes that you can't purchase at the park
itself. The building has a VERY long profile because the Harbor
frontage is very small, but the motel goes on and on and on away from the
road. |
