Accommodations Review: |
Rooms were very nicely furnished but a bit too crowded.
Our family travels with five people who don't pack light.
Storing suitcases, blankets, pillows, etc. is difficult. The
fluffy pillows and duvets are plus for comfort after a long
day at Disneyland. The sink is separate from the bathroom
which causes many collisions when people come out of the
shower past the sink. There is a table which is large enough
to read a newspaper and set down a coffee for two people. The
air conditioner is very efficient and can make the room
freezing cold. Makes me feel like I am at home in Canada. (It
is not that cold in Vancouver) We had the shutters closed all
the time because there are people constantly walking by who
glance in. The ice and pop machines are located at the center
of each wing of the building. The property is absolutely
beautiful and very well landscaped which gave me the feeling
of being in a tropical paradise. Kept the pool area shaded and
comfortable. The maids were excellent and did a complete
job. |

Restaurant/Lounge Review: |
The hotel provides an excellent complimentary continental
breakfast with a variety of items. There are lots of muffins
and pastries, etc. The continental breakfast is open from 7-10
AM which is good for guests wanting to get to the parks
early. |
Amenities / Facilities / Activities Available: |
Sundries Shop, Pool, Hot Tub, Hair Dryer, Laundry, Handicapped Accessible Rooms
Available, Non-Smoking Rooms Available, Smoke Detectors, Fire
Sprinklers. |
Pool Description/Comments: |
Pool was heated to a very warm temperature and refreshing
on a hot day. We would return to the hotel for the afternoon
for a rest and hang around in the pool area. From this time
till closing the pool is packed with loud kids who kick and
splash. The hot tub is under a gazebo and is never crowded. We
would take a cooler of ice cold Pepsi and some chips to the
pool and kick back and relax. |
Other Comments: |
This property was the most visually appealing around
Disneyland. I highly recommend the Candy Cane Inn for a trip
to the parks over any of the other hotels in the area. (With exception
to the Disney Hotels if you are willing to splurge).
The hotel is located on the Disneyland side of Harbor so you
don't have to cross the street. In the morning when the
temperature is nice, you can walk there and take your time
before the park opens. It is about a 9 minute walk. We
thought, considering the Canadian exchange rate, that what we
paid was reasonable and we were very impressed with the
facility. We are actually returning to Disneyland this August
and have already booked with the Candy Cane Inn for the same
rate. The picture in the AAA Tourbook doesn't
lie.
