The carousel theme is not too apparent in the exterior of
the hotel, however the rooms are decorated with a carousel theme featuring
carousel horse lamps and wallpaper borders, this prompted a friend to
comment that it makes it look a bit like a little girl's bedroom. The
door triple locks and has a pushbutton deadbolt, the front door key is a
plastic pass-key device with a microchip in the base of the key. The
room features more amenities than normal including microwave oven, mini
fridge, hair dryer and coffee maker. The telephones are chock full
of speed dial buttons for every service you could imagine, and has a data
port to plug in your laptop's modem, calls are surcharged at 75 cents.
The television seemed to me to be unusually small, but it may have
been simply because it was in a large entertainment center, service is the
typical 6 channel/pay per view setup.
The room featured two queen beds and was well appointed and very clean.
The hot water in the shower was both hot and had excellent pressure,
the faucet was a bit hard to get used to, but manageable. The vanity
is in a separate room and features a closet with mirrored, sliding doors,
however the vanity itself does not have a door, which can be uncomfortable
for some travelers. The only things I took issue with was the lack
of coffee for the in room coffee maker and the maid service during one
specific incident. I had left some change on the dresser, and I
assume the maid figured it was a tip so took that, which is OK, the
problem I had was the crumpled McDonald's bag that was right next to the
change was left untouched! The front desk staff was
professional and very helpful. |

The most notable feature of the Carousel is the 5 story
turret in the front of the complex. The continental breakfast is
served in the fifth floor of the turret, which offers a great view of the
park, the only odd thing is they actually have a staffer who asks you what
room you are in and how many people before letting you get your pastry,
are they really that afraid you'll take an extra jelly packet? |

The lobby is very well decorated and is actually themed to a carousel, the
complex is arranged in a U-shape with all doors facing inward towards the
parking lot. This lot also has a limited number of covered parking spots
located on what would be the first floor of the longest wing.
