We took the hotel shuttle but since the hotel is close to
the park, it should be good although I can't imagine why
someone would want to drive with the shuttle

Park Shuttle Comments: |
The shuttle was very convenient to take and had a great
drop off point at Disneyland. We actually chose the hotel
based on the reviews from Mouse Planet, with the description
of the shuttle being a key selling point. We weren't
disappointed. The shuttle leaves the hotel at 15 and 45 past
the hour and picks up at Disneyland on the half hour and on
the hour. I believe the last shuttle leaves Disneyland 1/2
hour after the park closes. We left Disneyland at closing time
one day and there were two buses since that's a busy time. We
were the last ones on the bus and they were full but the bus
driver squeezed us on so we wouldn't have to wait for the next
shuttle. We have two year old twins so I appreciated the extra
efforts of the bus driver. |

Accommodations Review: |
The room was a standard hotel room with two double beds, a
desk and some chairs. The mattresses were quite soft and since
we like firm beds, that is probably the only complaint I have.
My husband smokes and since we have 2 year old twins, I don't
like him smoking around them. We were in a smoking room on the
5th floor which was excellent. The pool is on the 5th floor
and he was able to go out of the sliding door to the
pool/lounge area outside and smoke without having to bother
us. If you have a smoker in your party, request the 5th
floor. |
Rate/Night (for your stay): |
$139 per night which was the best rate I could find (off
Mouse Planet, of course). I even called Hilton directly but
they couldn't beat the rate. |
# of Restaurants/Lounges: |
Not Sure, but another review says 9. |
Restaurant/Lounge Review: |
We ate all our meals at either Disneyland, the Cafe Oasis
(coffee shop at the hotel) or through room service. The service
at the Cafe Oasis was excellent and the food was good. Since
the kids are 2 years old, they could eat for free if an adult
ordered the buffet. They also have a nice children's menu. If
you order one kids meal, it should be plenty for two kids (and
our son is a big eater). Ask about their Vacation Station menu
for children. The waitress told us to sign up for Vacation
Station (kids get a free backpack and other benefits), but we
didn't read the handouts until we were headed home and found
there was a special kids menu for Vacation Station members. It
might save you some money. The room service was also
excellent. The food was good and it came right away both
nights. |

Other Comments: |
We picked this hotel by evaluating reviews from Mouse Planet
and we were not disappointed. My husband says he'd go back in a
heart beat and he's hard to please. I've traveled a lot
through my jobs and was really pleased with the service at
this hotel. I'd say the service is a notch above your standard
Hilton. The next time we go to Disneyland, we will probably
trade our timeshare for somewhere close instead (although the
room service and restaurants make a hotel more convenient). We
decided to stay at a local hotel instead of a timeshare
because we thought the kids would take a nap in the afternoon
making a hotel with a shuttle a better choice. But the kids
didn't want to leave Disneyland so we ended up staying most of
the day. If you want the convenience of a close hotel, I'd
highly recommend the
Hilton. |
