Accommodations Review: |
The hotel is all-suites, which is something to account for
when pricing the hotel. The rooms are adequate, clean, and
comfortable for a family of four, although on this trip, we
were a family of seven, three adults and four children, 9,7,2
and 2. The decor is cherry woods and deep greens. Two full
beds, a full sofa bed in the other room gave plenty of sleeping
room.
Two televisions, one in each room was great, for
watching Disney channel on one and the news on the other. HBO
and cable. There were also order-by-TV services such as video
games.
The bathroom housed the toilet and bathtub/shower,
while a vanity area was in the bed-room. Hairdryer, iron and
board, coffeemaker, fridge, microwave are standard in the
rooms.
The bedroom is in the front, while the living room is
towards the back, and they are separated by a curtain and
sliding French doors. There was an open space at the entrance
of the room which was large enough to park an open stroller
with room to spare so that it could dry overnight. Views are
of the hotel next door and it's parking lot to the north, with
a glimpse of Matterhorn, DCA, Space Mountain, and Katella Ave
and the car rental facility next door to the South.

Restaurant/Lounge Review: |
The hotel offers complimentary hot breakfast buffet, and
is open from 6:30AM to about 10 or 11. Offered were: scrambled
eggs, sausages, hashed brown triangles, fresh and canned
fruits, muffins, Danishes, doughnuts, toast, English muffins,
bagels, French toast, assortment of cold cereals, milk, orange
and apple juices, sodas, hot chocolate, brewed coffee and
decaf. I think I remembered everything. The breakfast is all
you can eat and you can take trays to your room to enjoy at
your leisure. Complimentary USA Today newspapers are offered
at the breakfast room. It is on the second floor. |
Amenities / Facilities / Activities Available: |
Sundries Shop, Pool, Hot Tub, Hair Dryer, Laundry, In-room Safe, Concierge,
Complimentary Airport Shuttle, Handicapped Accessible Rooms Available, Non-Smoking Rooms
Available, Smoke Detectors, Fire Sprinklers. |
Pool Description/Comments: |
Pool was clean and inviting, with a supply of towels close
at hand. Jacuzzi was great for tired, cold grownups at the end
of the day. Pool is heated. |
Other Comments: |
Our kids prefer to stay at Hawthorn now, instead of the
Disneyland hotel. They really seem to have a great time, and
the built-in breakfast is convenient and adds value to the
hotel for us. Also great for larger parties of travelers. We
find ourselves coming back again and again. Also, we prefer
the hotel feel rather than the motels on Harbor Blvd. Security
is good, as you must use your room key to access the building,
including the elevators. Room keys are electronic card
types. | | |
