Park Shuttle Comments: |
Shuttle was reliable and ran on the half hour. It worked
fine for us with 7 and 10 year old kids. The vehicles are air
conditioned. We rode both a red trolley and a big bus. This
route is on bus K. There are other stops nearby but we didn't
use them. You could get the info for them and possibly not
wait for the K bus if you were ready to go when a K bus was
not scheduled. |

Accommodations Review: |
This is a small place. More boutique style than anything
else. We had a kid suite which has bunk beds in a separate room
with a TV for them, a couch, fridge, little table and stools,
and microwave. Our room had a king bed, closet, drawers, and
TV. There was a separate sink and mirror in our room so the
bathroom could be occupied but another person could be using
the separate sink. That worked well for us. The rooms are
separated by sliding French doors. This is not a fancy place,
but adequate and clean. Relatively quiet except for the folks
above us appeared to be running marathons in their room. Noise
early in the morning could be heard when the "early entry"
people were making their way to the elevator. Room was clean
and pleasant. The corridors in the hotel were very warm, but
the rooms had their own air conditioning controls so we were
able to bring our room temp down to a very comfortable
temperature. The beds seemed hard to the touch but were
actually pretty comfortable. Lots of pillows were provided.
Our bed had four! The bunks each had one pillow. |

Pool Description/Comments: |
Pool was pretty small but the kids still had a ball. It
was a very comfortable temperature. You can also use the pool
at the Jolly Roger next door. Hot tub was very pleasant. Small
exercise room with decent equipment. We didn't use it since we
got all the exercise we needed walking in the parks! The pool
towels are very small. |

There are several places to eat nearby. We went to Albertson's
(down the road a ways) and bought breakfast
fixings. This worked out wonderfully. We ate out for the rest
of the meals. Be aware that the laundry facilities are limited
to two washers and two dryers. The wash is $1.25 and the dryer
is $0.75/cycle. Drying takes more than one cycle. There was
almost always a back-up for the machines. We chose this place
because of the kid suites. This was a real plus for our
family. I understand the Hyatt now offers kid suites and I
would be inclined to try that next time. I would, however,
come back here if I couldn't get a kid suite. Parking is not
the greatest here either, but you get by. All in all, it is a
decent place to stay, especially if you have kids and need the
breathing
space! |
