Accommodations Review: |
This hotel has potential, but is still undergoing
renovations. The week I was there it just changed from the
Anaheim Plaza Hotel to the Vagabond Plaza Inn. It will be
interesting to see if the new ownership improves the hotel
quality. It wasn't bad, but could definitely be better. There
is a large lobby and ample parking for guests (but you weren't
required to give your vehicle information). The rooms were
clean, but a bit worn. The hotel is at least 35 years old and
has some plumbing challenges. My room did not have any hot
water during busy bathing hours. In fact, I never really had
hot water both days I stayed there. But I didn't hear anyone
else complaining. The manager did give me a 30% discount as a
result. The rooms were large. I had a room with a King bed.
The room had a terrace which was nice, but I never used it. I
think all rooms have terraces, but not sure. The newly
renovated rooms offer refrigerators, new TV's and air
conditioners. Unfortunately I was in an old room which had an
old TV. that barely got reception and an air conditioner that
made the room comfortable, but never cold. I also did not
receive the benefit of a refrigerator. All the rooms around
me seemed to have one, but they also were rooms with 2 double
beds vs. my 1 King. The best part of the hotel was definitely the pool. It was huge! I remember the sign said that the pool
capacity was 160 people. And it very clean and warm. You could
get towels in the large pool area and there were also ample
loungers and tables with umbrellas and chairs. My daughter and
I really enjoyed our time at the pool. There was also a 6
person hot tub. The facility also had a game room with about
15 - 20 video machines. Next to the game room was a coin
operated laundry room for guest use. There was a pool table in
the hotel lobby for guest use. Also provided in the lobby was
ample tourist information and a gift shop that was very affordable
and offered a great selection of souvenir items as
well as your basic toiletries. |

The hotel has a lot of potential. I would try it again
next time, but I'd be sure to request a newly renovated room
and a fridge. I'd stay there again just for the
pool. |
