The rooms were very large, and had been updated just
before our arrival. A bar fridge and microwave are available
for a small charge. We had a view of the pool area, but you
could also see all over DCA from the huge windows in the
halls, and some rooms have views that way too. The housekeeping
was excellent, lot's of clean towels, and they replaced the
shampoo and soaps everyday. there's also in room coffee. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of plants and flowers. The
concierge is very helpful for booking other excursions. In
general the staff were all very helpful and friendly,
especially the lady running the little coffee/snack bar. The
only thing we didn't like was that there was no laundry
facility available, and they put a $500. (Canadian) hold on
our credit card so we could use the Nintendo. We cancelled
that privilege and they did an immediate release of our card.
A really lovely upscale hotel for the money. While the kids
loved the glass elevator, there really wasn't much for them to
do there. We might even stay again, if we go back without the
kids. |

Pool Description/Comments: |
The pool is Olympic size and very clean. The Santa Anna
winds were blowing while we were there so it was swimming
weather for us frozen Canadians. Even so they did have the
pool kind of cool on a couple of the days we were there. There
are lots of towels right by the pool, and it is landscaped
very nicely, and is very private which made it very
enjoyable. |
