This hotel is finishing up a refurbishment, in fact,
they were still working on the deli and restaurant area off the
lobby during our stay. The lobby has beautiful tile floors, a
seating area, lots of WDW info under a statue of Mickey, and a
staffed area just off the lobby with all kinds of attraction
information.
The guest rooms looked newly remodeled as well--except for the
bathrooms. The bath was old and worn, but clean. The bedspreads on
the 2 double beds appeared new as did the carpeting and drapes.
The armoire held a nice TV with Nintendo set. There is a separate
vanity/sink with a hairdryer outside of the bathroom which was
very convenient. This is where the coffeemaker is situated as
well. Our room had an ironing board in the closet, but nothing in
the spot where the iron should have been! (one note about the
hairdryer--it is not in a conventional electric plug--it has it's
own power unit which emits a bright red light and it was a bit
annoying as it lit the room very well throughout the night--not
good for those of us who like our room very dark!)
The beds were not very comfortable--they had no mattress pad
and you could really feel the scratchy surface of the mattress
under you.
I would like to say that the front desk staff were extremely
friendly, happy and seemed actually pleased to help everyone. Very
nice. |

We were using our AOL traveler's advantage free
hotel night certificate, so we only paid tax--$3 and change! I
checked on the choice hotels website, and the rooms are listed at
just over $100/ nt. (I think a little high--especially without
some sort of continental breakfast!) |

A nice clean place to stay--great staff, but I
wouldn't spend what they are asking for. I would say it ranks
similar to a Hampton Inn (but Clarion doesn't offer any sort of
breakfast) and should have prices to match. Over $100 is just too
much for this place...should be more like $60ish range.
I would highly recommend this as a place to redeem a free hotel
night certificate! We were very pleased! |
