Accommodations Review:

The room was a standard hotel room. It had two
double beds, a luggage rack, and a desk/dresser type thing with
two drawers. There would not have been much drawer space for a
family of four for a week. There was a bathroom with a commode and
a tub. The sink was on the outside. It did have a long counter.
There was also a clothes rod thing with the normal hotel type
hangers. There was a safe in the room, but it was not built into
the wall. It was just hanging there. The room was clean and well
kept. My room was on the 10th floor of one of the buildings near
the interstate. The gentleman at the desk did not recommend the
room, but I took it anyway. I did not notice any noise whatsoever
and slept very well. |

Restaurant/Lounge Review:
|
I only used the restaurant for breakfast. The
buffet was your average breakfast fare. Eggs, bacon, sausage,
pancakes, fruit, cereal, etc. There were two pricing levels for
breakfast. I had the full breakfast buffet, plus juice which was
$5.75, there was also a continental breakfast pricing for around
$3.50. |
Activities/Facilities Available:

There were several pools around the property, but I
did not use them. They were heated, however, as I noticed steam
rising from them in the mornings. |

Here are paragraphs from my trip report that
describe aspects of the hotel and the transportation provided. The
full trip report is available in the trip report section of this
website. (Editor's note: if you are considering
staying at an offsite hotel that offers only a pay shuttle service
that you will be relying upon, you should read Carol's full report
to get a good handle on how such a shuttle operates.)
I assumed that since this was a "Good Neighbor Hotel"
the Disney folks had at least briefed them on the workings of WDW
so that they could give their guests the best information, but
this was not the case.
As far as the Quality Inn Plaza itself, I would recommend it as
a good low cost option, but only if you are planning on renting a
car or driving yourself. There are three reasons for this. One:
The schedule is terrible, for day of arrival and day of departure,
it is impossible to use it. Two: If you are more than one person,
a rental car is cheaper, Three: The shuttle schedule will NOT
allow you to have a mid-day break back at the room.
One more note, on the prices of the shuttle, there was a round
trip charge of only $10.00 if you were going directly to a park
and being picked back up from that park. However, since I wanted
more flexibility after the park closed, I opted for the one-way to
the park, and one-way from Pleasure Island. |
