There's a reason we've never gone back to the
Comfort Inn Maingate. It was a bit run-down, and not
even average in terms of appearance and atmosphere. We
weren't expecting the Grand Floridian...but for your money one
does expect a well-kept place to stay. The bathrooms weren't
completely clean (there was nothing major, just mildew and the
like) and the furnishings were old and needed replacement.
It wasn't a terrible place, I've certainly stayed in worse motels,
but it wasn't somewhere we've been drawn to visit again. |

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Maingate for just one
night on the day we arrived in the area in 1993. Frankly, we
considered the motel to be a place with a bed...and it wasn't much
more than that. We got in just after dinner time and checked
in. Then we unloaded just the minimal luggage for the
night's stay. After getting settled we drove into the
World and stopped at the Marketplace and Dixie Landings (where we
would be staying for the rest of our visit) just to get the flavor
and get hyped a bit. The next morning we checked out, and
went over to Dixie Landings to pick up our passes -- and WDW
vacation 1993 was afoot! That was the sum total of our experience
at the Comfort Inn Maingate. It served its' intended
purpose. |
