Accommodations Review:

I saw CondoLodge on the internet about 6 weeks before I made my
reservation, and from the looks of the website I though it would be a
great place to stay. I called the office at about noon, and they told me
to come back at 4 which was the guaranteed check in time. I told the lady
that whomever I spoke to on the phone told me that I could check in at
noon, and she said that I must have misunderstood her and that check in
time was at four, they were really busy and they didn't have any clean
condos. I should have known there that something was very wrong. I wanted
to pay for my condo right then and there, but the girl informed me that I
could look at my condo first before paying because there were no refunds.
We ended up going to Sea World that day because we didn't want to waste a
day, and we ended up coming back when they were closing, and the girl just
gave me an envelope and told me that the office was closed and that I
could come back in the morning to pay off my balance. Even though I was
inside the office, she didn't let me pay for my condo, she just said to
come back in the morning. I told her that I was going to the Magic Kingdom
the next day and I had to leave early. She told me that the office was
closed and that to come back the next day. Well after searching for our
condo, I opened the door and saw luggage. I thought it was weird and
someone came out of the bedroom and thought I was a burglar. I tried to
explain to the man that I had gotten this key from the office. So I went
back to the office, and by this time the girls who were working had
already left. I had to call the answering service who later paged someone
who told me to get another envelope from the lock box. After opening the
lock box, we drove back to the condo complex, and we were put all the way
in the back.
The condos weren't anything what was advertised on the website. My
family was disgusted by what we found. I don't even know where to start.
Well the living room had old, holey furniture, and when you sat on it, it
would completely sink down, and it was all grimy. The walls were covered
in crayon, and the carpets were stained with bleach and very dirty. The
kitchen was completely disgusting. The floor was covered in someone's bare
footprints, and the refrigerator had rust in it, the light wasn't working,
and it didn't seem to be cooling properly. The inside of the vegetable
tray had something sticky in there that resembled dried eggs. The sink had
a foul stench coming from it, maybe from the garbage disposal. It was
terribly hot in the condo, and we looked at the thermostat, and it was at
set at 75 degrees, but it was showing 86 degrees. The bathroom inside the
master bedroom had feces in the toilet, garbage behind the toilet, and the
walls were had lots of mildew on it. The hall bathroom had a shower
instead of a bathtub, and the shower had tile also, it was of course mildewed.
The toilet rocked. The second bedroom had blood & hair on the sheets.
One of the full beds was broken and it was leaning to one side, and all of
the comforters were stained and dirty. The dining room table leg was
broken and leaning to one side. And there were cobwebs in the corner.
I was absolutely furious at what I had gotten. I was supposed to be
staying in something like what I had seen on the website, something that
was clean and that was good for my family to stay in. I called the office
and demanded a refund, and the person told me that there were no refunds
and that I could use a credit for $100 for up to one year. I didn't find
this acceptable, and it was in the information I was sent in the mail said
no refunds. They had no more rooms available. My family stayed somewhere
else that night, and I came back in the morning to get an item I had left
in the condo, and the area was nothing that was advertised either. It was
old, and it needed to be painted badly. The pool area was very old also. I
later found out that the property was in a low-income area, the condos are
for sale for about $50,000. I came back in the morning demanding to speak
to a manager, and they said that they had none available, and I was given
a brochure with the owner's name on it. I demanded to speak to him, and
they told me I could come back on Monday to speak to him. I left furious,
and I came back on Monday, and the manager came out and spoke to me and
refused to give me my money back. She told me I was overreacting, and that
they had offered me to move me to another condo that night after I had
walked in on someone and after I was sent to a horrible condo. She refused
to give me my money back, and I demanded to speak to someone higher than
her. She told me that the owner never gives refunds and he wouldn't now.
She pointed out on the information that she sent me that I could use the
deposit within one year. I am still fighting to get my money back. |
