This place is great! Very close to WDW, very easy
access, and VERY nice suites. First, the bare facts: We had a 1BR
suite, which had a living room/kitchenette with a dinette set,
fold-out couch, and recliner. The kitchenette had full-size fridge
with icemaker, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, two-burner cook
top (no oven), coffee maker, toaster, and all necessary utensils,
dishes, and cookware. The housekeeping staff ran our dishes and
restocked the pre-measured coffee packs every day. The bedroom had
two double beds, a bedside table with alarm clock/radio, and
dresser, and was separated from the living area by double doors.
Furnishings were very comfortable and in excellent condition. The
few problems that we had (a toilet that would not stop running,
burned-out light bulb, etc. -- nothing big) were fixed
immediately.
The bathroom had a vanity area with wall-attached hair dryer,
single sink, decent counter space, a large mirror, and very good
lighting. This was also where the closet was, with sliding
mirrored doors -- could have been a bit bigger, but it was fine.
The vanity is not separated from the bathtub/toilet by a door, but
the closet containing the hot water heater was unlocked (it
probably wasn't supposed to be), and the door could be opened to
separate the two areas easily. There were phones in both the
bedroom and living room, and both rooms also had large (27-inch?)
remote control cable TVs, with free HBO and in-room pay movies and
pay video games. We also had a video cassette player, but we were
told they are doing away with those because so many of them have
been stolen. Local calls and toll-free long distance calls were
free.
Storage for clothing isn't bad, but there could be more. Aside
from the low double dresser, there were also two large drawers in
the TV stand in the living room which can be used (and we did),
and shelves on one side of the closet.
They serve a continental breakfast every morning, which is
mostly bread items. They bake fresh muffins each morning (they're
very good) and also have toaster waffles, bulk cereal, milk,
juice, and bagels. There is also a free evening "social
hour" where they serve dinner-type food and soft drinks,
beer, and wine, but we never tried it.
The pool and hot tub are outdoors and a bit small, but
centrally located and very nice. They also claim to have a
"playground", but it's actually just a large sandbox.
Towels are provided for pool visitors. |

Pool Description/Comments:

We never used the pool or the hot tub, but they
looked pretty good. The pool is much larger than the "postage
stamp" ones that some hotels have -- I saw as many as a dozen
or more people in it comfortably. It was shaped as a series of
connected circles, with (I think) the circles at different depths.
The hot tub probably seats about 8. They're right next to each
other and right outside the clubhouse. There is plenty of area
around them to walk, and numerous deck chairs and picnic tables. |

We loved this hotel. The staff was very friendly and
helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable. We were there with
our five-year-old, and it was PERFECT for families with small
kids. We could put him to bed, then close the door and watch TV,
plan the next day, fix a snack, and do whatever else we wanted to
do without waking him. The location was GREAT -- we completely
avoided all the traffic on US192, since the hotel is at the very
first stoplight after you exit I-4 onto US192. That made it easy
to leave for a midday nap each day and make a quick return when we
were ready. This is also a fairly attractive place -- well-kept,
very neat landscaping, very clean-looking from the outside and the
rooms were kept VERY clean. I highly recommend this hotel to
anyone, but especially those who have young kids with them. This
will be the first place we call when we start planning our next
trip!
