Accommodations Review: |
Kerry, the other person who rated this hotel, was so very
nice and extremely helpful in our decision to stay here. My
husband loves to go first class whenever we go to WDW; We have
stayed at the Contemporary (on property) numerous times, the Polynesian, the Caribbean Beach Resort, and (my favorite) the
Boardwalk Villa 1 bedroom suite. That suite now goes for about
$600 a night! Anyway, we tried to make a reservation to stay
on premises again, but there were NO availabilities ANYWHERE
on premises for our vacation, so we had no choice but to look
for something else. The Homewood suites is owned by Hilton
(who has a good reputation) and they would give us Southwest Airline points if we stayed there plus they were very close to
where we wanted to be as far as staying off premises goes. The
rate was great - only $69 per night with the Entertainment
Club membership and the hotel had a free continental breakfast
every morning which is nice. We have a 8 month old, so having
a refrigerator, sink, dishwasher and microwave was important as
far as I was concerned and this hotel included these things. I
liked having the option to close the bedroom doors to keep my
husband from waking up while the baby and I played in the
living room and got ready to take a trip to the lobby for
early morning breakfast while Daddy slept in late for a
change. The breakfast included waffles, biscuits with gravy,
donuts, muffins, juice, coffee and milk. There were enough
tables (& high chairs) for everyone to comfortably sit and
relax. We had gone to the "Manager's Reception" once by
accident. That includes fountain soda, draft beer, taco meat,
and chips & salsa. As far as any negative things ... I
thought the room could have used a little more attention. The
woodwork was quite damaged and the room wasn't as clean as it
could have been. We had to have a smoking room because the
non-smoking rooms were all booked. I didn't notice this while
we were there, but when we returned home, our clean clothes
that I had unpacked into the drawers, smelled like smoke. This
hotel has all of the non-smoking rooms on the 2nd floor (which
has no elevator) and all of the smoking rooms on the bottom
floor. I think they could re-think that plan. Other than that,
I would say that the stay was wonderful. |

Pool Description/Comments: |
We had gone into the pool once during our stay; No
complaints at all. I also noticed that there were 2 barbecue
grills near the pool area for the guest to use - that could
come in handy for some families. |

Again, I would recommend anyone who would like to stay off premises
to consider this hotel. It was a very easy ride to
WDW and the accommodations were
nice. |
