Accommodations Review:

When I made this reservation, I was assured that the facility was at
least AAA rated, even though the rate was lower than most in the area.
When I arrived, I was sorely disappointed. The lobby was dark, and smelled
funny, that should have been my first clue. I went ahead and checked in,
hoping that the rooms were going to be ok. Driving to my room, I then
noticed the life-sized, fully-nude (not even a fig leaf), greek-styled
statues spread throughout the grounds. I know this is art, but it made me
uncomfortable with my 20 and 12 year old daughters with us. I thought this
to be inappropriate for a family vacation spot. The room was as bad as the
lobby. Dingy, and with a strange odor. This facility just had a general
"trashy" appearance. We drove further up (closer to Disney) 192,
and found a very nice Comfort Inn, for a mere $2.00 more a night, which
included a free breakfast, fridge/microwave, and 25in TV. Darn....no naked
statues though! I ended up paying for a night at the Travelodge, but it
was worth it not to have to stay there even one night. I couldn’t
believe Travelodge allowed it’s name to be used on this hotel. |
