Food Review:
|
We both ordered the mushroom and wild
rice soup, which was absolutely delicious! Our main course was the
Cognac Marinated Rib-eye Steak which had a delicious flavor,
however my husband's steak was about 2/3 fat. He finally returned
it for the fish of the day. As anyone who has ever sent food back
at a restaurant knows, it really ruins the continuity of a meal to
send back your entree. I finished my steak and watched my husband
eat his fish. My steak was about 25% fat, but it had a delicious
flavor, and with the soup I had, I was full. Jim said his fish was
delicious, very well prepared, he was sorry that he hadn't ordered
it first. |
Service Review:
|
The service was good, not exceptional.
We waited for quite a length of time to get the waiter's attention
so that we could send the steak back, and finally got the
attention of the host, who sent the manager to see us. |
Atmosphere Review:
|
Cute theme, but the tables are very
close together, not much breathing room in there. |

We were disappointed that after the
problem with our meal, only a complimentary glass of white wine
was offered in place of the red wine my husband had ordered
earlier and the red wine was quickly taken off the table so that
it couldn't also be drunk. We thought this would be a four or five
star restaurant and were sadly disappointed that it was not. We
felt that at the very least, we should have been offered
complimentary dessert for the problem with our dinner,
additionally, it was our honeymoon! We have been back to stay at
the Hotel, but have decided that we would not visit Hook's, as we
felt for the prices charged, their quality and service should have
been much better. |
