Food Review: |
I had a burger, my kids had a hot
dog and the cheeseburger sliders, respectively. The burger was
grilled within an inch of it's life, making it perhaps one of
the worst burgers I've ever had. The sides (baked beans and
seasoned fries) were better. In fact, the baked beans were
pretty good. I'm not a fan of seasoned fries, but the
seasoning was light enough to make them acceptable. My son,
who had the cheeseburgers, had the same problem as I did with
his meal. I offered to have it sent back for something else,
but he didn't want to do that. I should have insisted, since
all he did was stare at his food and mope. |
Service Review: |
Service was good, though a bit slow
at times. There was never any problems with any of our
requests. |
Atmosphere Review: |
The main features of this
restaurant are the open grill at the back end and the live
studio where they broadcast ESPN sports shows from. A schedule
of the upcoming shows was printed on the placemat - it looked
like they try to average a show every week or so. The show was
scheduled to start at 12:00 when we were there, but they were
still setting up when we left, which was near 1:00. There's a
minimum of $10 per person during a show, but our bill came in
a dollar or two below that, but they didn't press us for the
difference, either because the show hadn't started or because
we were so close to the minimum anyway. |
Other Comments: |
They were out of crayons for the
kid's placemats. Not that it mattered, because most of the
activities were poorly reproduced (they make new placemats
every day - great for sports stories, but evidently murder on
the kid's side - we couldn't make out the numbers for the
connect the dots!) I guess they don't get many kids. If you're
a sports nut and have a palate for their distinctive way of
cooking, you'll probably enjoy this place. In our case, we
probably won't be going
back. |
