Priority Seating / Reservations Comments: |
Reservations made at 11am in the
morning at the restaurant. Time and seating request selected
was available. |
Time of Wait: |
No wait time, in fact we booked a
table for 6:30, but arrived at 6:15, taken directly to our
table. The place was quite empty, but this may have been due
to the early closing of the park (8pm) |
Food Review: |
The food was average I suppose, we
selected from the set price menu which contains a number of
items from the full menu. We had a starters of Spicy Shrimp on
a bed of grated vegetables (quite small seafood, but plentiful) and a Fish / Seafood mousse (small but tasty). The
main course was either Chicken Tika with Rice and Beans
(Chicken was tender, but rice and beans a little bland) or
Fish Stew (difficult to tell what it contained, but told it
was tasty and spicy, also came with rice) Desserts consisted
of a Banana Cake with Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream with a
serving of Caramelized Pineapple (This was a great
combination, but the cake was a little hard, I left some!) or
A selection of Ice Creams, Vanilla, Pineapple and Rum / Raisin
(seemed to go down very well, it was a little 'solid' on
arrival, but soon thawed) Overall we felt satisfied by the
quality and quantity delivered, but it could have been a little
more interesting. |
Service Review: |
Service was very good, attentive
and speedy service. In fact due to the lack of customers, it
was perhaps a little to speedy. We did not mind as we could
see more of the park, but others may have needed more time
between courses. |
Atmosphere Review: |
Well you can't really fault the
Blue Lagoon for atmosphere, it has to be one of the best
themed restaurants in the Disney empire. It was a little dark
initially, so reading the menu was a challenge. One thing we
did notice was the 'Bon Appetite' shouts we received
occasionally from the riders in passing 'Pirates' boats. Not a
problem, in fact it was quite funny. |
Other Comments: |
Overall a good experience, I would
recommend a visit to the Blue Lagoon, but not primarily for
the food. Although tasty there are better menus elsewhere
(Walt's on Main Street), but none have quite the atmosphere of
eating under a tropical
moon. | |
