Had to wait approx 10 minutes to be

in the waiting area. |
Food Review: |
Food was excellent, beautifully
presented, a piece of art on every plate. Starter - Tomato
Tart, a small crisp pasty base covered in fresh and sun dried tomatoes, served with a very pleasant dressing full of tiny
shredded vegetables. Main Course - Salted Sea Cod on a bed of
mashed potatoes, and a side of spinach. Dessert - Apple Filo
pastry parcel, with 3 small scoops of passion fruit sorbet and
a raspberry caulis. All the courses were very tasty and
interesting, both taste wise and visually (which is just as
important). The quantity was normal for a 'French' restaurant,
but well below that severed in the US. For me it was perfect
in every way, but I could see others expecting a little more
in terms of portion size. |
Service Review: |
Service was again excellent, the
staff being very attentive and observant. Bringing more bread
without the need to ask, cleaning the table between courses,
etc. |
Atmosphere Review: |
Although Walt's is very nicely
themed with each room being based on a 'land' in the park (I
had a table in the Fantasyland room), it does not come over as
being very 'special'. The rooms are very pretty and themed,
but are basically 'Victorian' in style. The intimate room
setting does make for a quiet meal though and you are not
disturbed by other dinners. One great advantage of Walt's is
the opportunity to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade
from the windows. If you do intend to watch ask for a window
table, and be warned that although you get a good view, the
music is not repeated inside (some would say that's a good
thing) |
Other Comments: |
Overall I would rate this as the
best place to eat in the park. The food is excellent and the
presentation can't be beaten. The service is well over par,
unobtrusive, but there when you need it. Give Walt's a visit
and you won't be disappointed. |
