Fall 2000 WDW Trip Reports

Shawn Corkery - November 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, rental car
  • Resort: Offsite
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent
  • Comments: Three years in the composition, this epic trip report covers all the high points of a two week trip to Disney World. Theme parks, hotels, NASA, near constitutional crises . . .

Sherry H. - November 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: CSR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Comments: Sherry and Mindy, her college student daughter, enjoyed a three-night stay at WDW.  As an AP holder, Sherry visited the Mouse at a fast and furious pace over the last year.  This report is interesting because it shows the slower pace of a typical AP holder and frequent visitor.  It also explores the idea of the magic wearing off just because of having so many visits.  You'll have to read to find out how that  turns out!

Jackie Reichert - November 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: CSR, ASMuR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Infrequent
  • Comments:  This is a very detailed trip report covering Jackie and Rick's nine day stay at WDW in early November.  In addition to a great play-by-play, Jackie provides a nice list of final thoughts that can help any trip planner.

Lisa Willis - November 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Rental Car (Van)
  • Resort: ASSR (plus a room on the drive down to WDW0
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments:  This is a great play-by-play report of a nine-night long trip to WDW.  In addition to sharing all about the activities of the trip, Lisa provides a great list of trip expenses that can be a great reference.  This is the third trip report that Lisa has provided to the site.  I hope there's many more!

Robin Goble - November 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: ASMoR, Offsite
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent
  • Comments:  Robin provides a great play-by-play report of a trip with her nephew and mom.  This is a fun report to read, and it includes a great list of lessons-learned at the end.

David McQuaid - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: ASSR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Infant, Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Infrequent, Rookie
  • Comments: The McQuaid clan drove down to WDW from South Carolina in the Fall of 2000 (during the Millennium Celebration). This is a fun play-by-play report with quite a bit to be gained for someone that is planning to visit with an infant.

Joanne Ernest - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: Offsite, GFRS
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Teen, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Infrequent, Rookie
  • Comments:  This is a blockbuster report with tons of details.  Besides telling us all about the family's stay at the Grand Floridian, the report covers a fantastic meal at the chef's table at Victoria & Albert's restaurant.

Patty Thorpe - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car, shuttle Service
  • Resort: ASMuR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent, Rookie
  • Comments:  This report covers a trip with a cast of thousands from back in the Fall of 2000.  Ok, so it wasn't really thousands, but Patty's extended family (seven people in all) used five rooms at the All Star Music Resort.  It's probably the only time in the resort's history that the cheerleaders were outnumbered.

Brian Bennett - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: OKWR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room / 2 Bedroom Vacation Home
  • Ages Represented in Group: Pre-School, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Infrequent
  • Comments: This is the first time I've ever provided daily updates during my trip.  Better yet, it's the first time I've ever included pictures with any of my reports!  On this trip, we brought Barb's parents along for the ride.  The pre-trip report is a long one, then it's a daily play-by-play from there.

John Ciarcia - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: Offsite (Orange Lake Resort)
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Accommodations: 2 Bedroom Vacation Home
  • Ages Represented in Group: Toddler, Elementary, Teen, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Infrequent, Rookie
  • Comments:  Besides providing a fun report on this trip, John includes his family's reviews of resorts and attractions from the past three trips they've made.  Also included is Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios besides the four Disney parks.

Sheri Niklewski - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car, Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: BVR, CSR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room, Suite
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Rookie
  • Comments:  This was the second trip in just about a month for Sheri.  This report covers the family affair that the Niklewskis enjoyed in late October.  If you want to know more about making trip arrangements, Sheri is the guru, read this report!

Tuppence Evans - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: WL, CR
  • Accommodations: Junior Suite, Tower Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent, Rookie
  • Comments:  This is a short report with just the highlights.  If you'd like to get a little flavor of a trip to WDW, but don't have time to read a novel, this would be a fun report to read.

Kevin Stringer - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: BVIR, VBR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments:  Kevin now has several trip reports in the archive.  This one covers the family's blockbuster trip to WDW with a mid-course side-trip to Vero Beach.  Kevin has a very personal style that I'm sure you'll enjoy...and in between laughs, you'll learn a ton about WDW as you read, too.

Ian David Parkinson - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: Offsite
  • Accommodations: Villa Vacation Home
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Rookie
  • Comments:  Ian lives in Paris, so this report covers WDW with a twist -- viewing the Florida parks from the viewpoint of a European, and one that is very familiar with Disneyland Paris, at that.  The trip includes a family reunion, so a lot of folks were involved.

Pat Edaburn - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: OKWR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room / Studio
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent
  • Comments:  Pat and his sister Lori enjoyed nine days at OKWR.  They enjoyed Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party, the Main Street Electrical Parade, and the rest of the WDW parks and attractions.  It was a pleasure, too, for my family to finally meet up with Pat and Lori, after over a year of on-line conversations.  By the way, if you're looking for a family lawyer to handle trusts, wills, and so on...Pat is great (he's my own family lawyer, as a matter of fact).

Sue Holland - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: OKWR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room / Studio
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, DVC Member
  • Comments:  Sue spent a long time at WDW this trip, two whole weeks, and used the time primarily to meet up with other folks she'd met over the years on AOL and through the newsgroups.  This, as usual, is a killer play-by-play report with a fun summary section to boot.

Suzan Bird-Conliff - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: Offsite, ASMuR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Rookie
  • Comments:  Suzie and Debbie went to Orlando on a business trip, but extended it to enjoy WDW.  This is a fun trip report, written in part with "rookie" excitement (as Debbie had never been to WDW).

Rodney Perry - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: BVIR
  • Accommodations: 1 Bedroom Vacation Home
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Frequent
  • Comments:  This report covers Rodney and Melissa's fifth trip to WDW together.  Rodney is a former cast member from the late '70s and his love for WDW still shows.  This is a fun report to read, since there are many comparisons to "the old days."

Jennifer Ledford - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: DL
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but with experience at Disneyland)
  • Comments:  Jennifer's report covers her family's trip.  They spent eleven days at WDW (by people that know Disneyland, but that have never been to the Florida parks).  They also had a pretty bad DVC sales experience, if you're curious about that.

Lori E. Wagner - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: YCR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments:  Lori's report covers a solo in the early part of September.  She wrote a great pre-trip report, then followed it up with a daily summary style report on the actual trip.

Wanda Chow Beard - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: CSR, ASSR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments:  This is a summary style report, listing a bunch of good things, a few bad, and a handful of miscellaneous thoughts.  It won't take long for you to read this one, but it will be time well spent!

Roseanne McKeever - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: PR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room (Garden Concierge)
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments:  This is a very special report because it details the wedding for Roseanne's daughter's upcoming wedding!  That makes it a very special, interesting, and unique report.

Jacqui Kasket - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: PO
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Comments:  Jacquie's report is a summary style one, with a bunch of "highs" and "lows" listed with her reasons why she feels that way.  If you're planning an upcoming trip, read this report...you'll learn several things that you'll want to apply to your own plans.

Jennifer Reall - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: CSR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Infrequent
  • Comments:  Jennifer has several other reports on the site.  This one is a shorter summary-style one, with a fun-to-read list of tidbits from the trip.

Dan Bejma - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane
  • Resort: CBR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, DVC Member
  • Comments:  Dan's report is a short, summary style one.  It's fun, though, just to read his opinions on some of the attractions.  Obviously, here is a Disney fan that loves going to see the Mouse.

Wendy Jordan - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: FWC, Offsite
  • Accommodations: Fort Wilderness Home, Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments:  This is a great report about a great trip!  Besides having a ton of trip planning and execution information, there is some interesting information about how to enjoy WDW when disabled as Wendy's Aunt came along on this trip with her guide dog Gwen.

Bill Lund - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: PR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Teen, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent, Rookie
  • Comments:  Bill and his family won the "Disney Magic Sweepstakes" and guess what?  They went to Walt Disney World.  Bill describes all of the trip planning as well as the entire trip in a play-by-play style.  Beware, though, if you're like me you'll be jealous from reading about a free trip to WDW!

Anony"mouse" - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: OKWR, BVR, ASMuR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room / Studio, 2 Bedroom Vacation Home
  • Ages Represented in Group: Pre-School, Elementary, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Infrequent, DVC Member
  • Comments:  This is a fantastic, detailed, blockbuster trip report!  If you like reports that show detailed planning and execution, this is one for you to study.  It covers many issues including the fact that Mom's extended family were involved with the trip.  Another great feature is a fantastic summary, for those of you that prefer that kind of report...you'll find that here too!

John Poster - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: PO
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Toddler, Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, but not recently
  • Comments:  John sent me this report covering his family's trip in September.  This is another of several "rookie report writers" reports that I've put up over the last week or two, which I think is just great!  John wraps up the report with a great summary of lessons-learned, so check it out!

Donna Morrissey - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: DL, WL
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Comments:  Donna provided this report of a great nine-day family vacation in mid-September.  This one is full of detail, includes a lot of trip planning information, and covers the time during the trip well, too.  I just hope Donna will write up some reports of all of her future trips, too!

Joanne Ernest - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: Walt Disney World Swan
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments:  Here's Joanne's own intro to this report, "Hi Brian, I have been reading the trip reports at your site for the last 10 months and have decided to try my hand at it for the first time. My DH and I took a quick trip in late September to meet Jennifer Watson and Dave Marx, since we both moderate for them on their PassPorter site. This is a play-by-play report and very detailed. I hope you like it and decide to put it on your site."  One rare thing about this report is that Joanne stayed at the Swan.

Janice Hubbard - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: CR, PO
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Pre-School, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent
  • Comments:  This is a fun to read report with plenty of trip planning (and WDW atmosphere) details.  If you want to read up on dealing with a single 4-year-old on a trip to WDW, here's a good start (and I'll be reading this one, since that pretty much describes my own upcoming trip, too).

Sheri Niklewski - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: Offsite
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Comments:  Another classic report by a veteran writer!  I love Sheri's reports, she fills them with detail and provides all kinds of helpful trip planning tips.  Sheri subtitled this one, "How the Certifiable Disney Nut Managed a Third Trip in One Year" or "How to Take a Solo Trip to Disney World on a Budget."  It just makes me jealous.
