  • Accommodations: Standard Room, Disney Magic
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult

  • Resort: PCR/Magic
  • Accommodations: Standard Room, Disney Magic
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult

  • WDW Experience Represented in Group:Veteran, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments: Sue was a bit under the weather, and isn't the biggest fan of cruises shorter than three days. But one of the advantages of having dones the cruises many times before is that rather than running around, Sue can concentrate on getting some serious relaxation time squeezed into a short trip.

  • Resort: BCR/Magic
  • Accommodations: Standard Room, Disney Magic
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult

  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Comments: A long trip (and an epic trip report) for Sue this time. A seven night cruise on the Magic with four nights at Walt Disney World to start. It's hard to go wrong with a plan like that.

  • Accommodations: Standard Room, Disney Wonder
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult, Senior

  • Comments: Wendy writes, "We got Annual Passes last year so there isn't the compulsion to stay all day and do commando type touring - our aim is to relax - something I am not very good at." I'll let you read the report to see how she did.

Kevin Smith - April 2002

  • Time of Year: Spring

  • Resort: PORR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Outside Porthole Cabin
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent

  • Comments: Kevin & Nancy enjoyed a repeat voyage on the Wonder back in April. This is a great report of exactly how a couple can enjoy a Disney cruise and some time at Walt Disney World.

Jim Pertierra - February 2002

  • Time of Year: Winter
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: PORR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Deck #, Cabin Type
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Teen, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Experienced, Rookie
  • Comments:  Jim, who has several other great trip reports here on MousePlanet, has provided another great narrative of his family's trip.  This time, they started with a cruise on the Wonder and followed that up with several more days at WDW.  If you like detail, and you're researching a DCL trip, make sure that this report is on your reading list!

Tami Farmer - December 2001

  • Time of Year: Holiday Season
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Accommodations: Deck #6, Deluxe Ocean View (#6008)
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments:  The Farmers enjoyed a three-night cruise aboard the Wonder after spending a few days at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  This is a great play-by-play report.  During the cruise Tami checked out the spa, the restaurants, the shows, and enjoyed the stop at Castaway Cay.

Karen Staycoff - October 2001

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: PORFQ, ASMuR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Deck #, Cabin Type
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent, Rookie
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments: I'm a staunch creationist, but this report makes be a firm believer in trip evolution.  Karen ran the gauntlet as she planned this one, and the trip stretched, ballooned, and bent all over the place (even making hotel changes during the trip itself!)  Karen is nothing if not flexible.  :)

Greg Ferguson - October 2001

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: BCR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Comments: Greg and his new bride enjoyed the honeymoon package (with lots of extra features) as they honeymooned at the Beach Club Resort and on the Disney Wonder.  Greg provides a great play-by-play of a great vacation.

Susan Salas - October 2001

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: PORFQ
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Standard Inside Stateroom
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments: "We had a wonderful, magical and insanely packed honeymoon. I have to say that I don't think we'll ever try to cram this much into such a short period of time again, but we were glad to see so much. Now we know what we'll revisit on our next trip!"

Sue Holland - October 2001

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: WL, OKWR, Offsite
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Deck 7, Verandah Stateroom #7556
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Frequent, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Several Time Cruiser
  • Comments:  This is Sue's latest epic trip report.  This time, she spent a week at Old Key West Resort (and other resorts on and off site) as well as a full week on the Disney Magic.  As always, Sue tells the WHOLE story in gripping detail... enjoy!(Note:  As Sue spent a great deal of time at Pleasure Island and in other adult venues, on this trip, this report has some information that may not be appropriate for young readers.)

Mike Morizio - August 2001

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: BWR
  • Accommodations: 2 Bedroom Vacation Home; Deck #, Cabin Type
  • Ages Represented in Group: Teen, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Infrequent, Rookie, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  During the course of this trip report, Mike ends each day with "What I Learned Today?"  It's nice to have a summary of those lessons-learned.  Besides that, Mike give a great pre-trip planning overview and a nicely detailed play-by-play of the entire trip.

John Ciarcia Jr - August 2001

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Accommodations: Deck 6, Category #6 (Outside Cabin with Veranda)
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments:  This is a great play-by-play report of a Disney Cruise only trip that John and his family took in August.  The troupe enjoyed a few  days on the beach before boarding the Magic for their seven day voyage.

Andrew Bichard - December 2000

  • Time of Year: Holiday Season
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: WL, BIR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Deck #, Outside Cabin
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  Andrew's report gives a very good description of what it's like to visit WDW in a wheelchair.  In fact, throughout the report, he provides information on accessibility that can be very helpful if you need to know about that.  Besides the WDW visit, Andrew and Sheila decided to enjoy a cruise on the Disney Magic, too, and Andrew provides a wealth of information on accessibility while enjoying the DCL, too.

David Hastings - October 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane
  • Accommodations: Deck #, Family Stateroom with Verandah
  • Ages Represented in Group: Teen, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments:  This is a blockbuster trip report.  David covers the trip planning and every aspect of the voyage in intimate detail.  If you're at all curious about what sailing with Disney is like, read this report from top to bottom.  Of course, that might take you a few days...

Sue Holland - September 2000

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: ASSR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: As Veteran as Anyone
  • Comments:  This is a detailed report, a Sue Holland classic, covering her SECOND DISNEY CRUISE IN TWO MONTHS!!  If you want to know how the seven day cruise differs from the four day itinerary, and you want the information dripping in detail--here's the report you want to read.

Sue Holland - August 2000

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: OKWR, ASMoR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Deck #, Cabin Type
  • Ages Represented in Group: Infant, Toddler, Pre-School, Elementary, Teen, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Frequent, Infrequent, Rookie, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  This is a very detailed report on Sue and Chris' cruise on the Wonder.  Since Sue and Chris have both been cruising before, a lot of comparisons are drawn between Disney Cruise Lines and others (notably Holland America Line).  All in all, another classic Sue Holland report!

Stephen Roberts - June 2000

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: PO
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Standard Inside Stateroom
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  This is a great report, it covers the cruise well, but also the time the family spent at WDW prior to embarking on the Wonder.  The initial reason for the trip?  Steve's kids played at Epcot in their Suzuki string group!  The report covers that in detail, too.

Tim Larison - May 2000

  • Time of Year: Spring
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: OKWR, BVR
  • Accommodations: 1 Bedroom Vacation Home, Studio; Deck #, Deluxe Inside Stateroom
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments:  This is a great report of a long trip to WDW with a trip on the Disney Magic in the middle for good measure.  Tim does a great job of describing the family's activities throughout the trip.

Jim Pertierra - March 2000

  • Time of Year: Spring
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: PR
  • Accommodations: Standard Rooms; 7505, Inside Stateroom
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Teen, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Frequent, Infrequent, Rookie, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  Jim and his family enjoyed this trip so much, they're already planning a follow-up cruise in a couple years.  Jim reports on Magic and the rest of the trip in typical Pertierra fashion...plenty of detail, but succinct and to the point, too.

Sharon Amaral - January 2000

  • Time of Year: Winter
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: BWR, ASMoR
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Category 5, deluxe staterooms with a verandah (#7060 & 7062)
  • Ages Represented in Group: Pre-School, Elementary, Teen, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments:  If you really want to know what a Disney cruise is like, read THIS report!  This is probably the most detailed cruise trip report on this site with tons of information in a summary style.  Normally I standardize text styles on these reports, for consistency's sake, but I've left Sharon's format of flagging tips with red, centered text so they'll jump out at you.  By the way, there's as much WDW information in this report as there is cruise information.  If you're into restaurant reviews...you'll find gold here, too.

Debbie Chambers - December 1999

  • Time of Year: Holiday Season
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Resort: DL
  • Accommodations: Standard Room; Deck #, Cabin Type Not Reported
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Not Reported
  • Comments:  Debbie and her entourage spent more time at WDW than on the cruise.  In fact, I didn't realize that this trip included a cruise until I got to day six and read about their move over to the Disney Wonder.  The report includes daily plans and objectives, and a brief description of what really took place.  Enjoy!

Julie Elberson - August 1999

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: N/A
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, Infrequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  Julie's report is a play-by-play of the family's cruise.  The text is rich with details and descriptions that, I'm sure, will be valuable to anyone that is planning a Disney cruise vacation.

Binnie L. Betten - June 1999

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Plane, Taxis
  • Resort: PO
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Infrequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  This  trip " was a 2-1/2 years in the planning, pull out all the stops, total WDW experience- extravaganza."  Besides enjoying WDW to the maximum, the Binnie and her husband enjoyed a wonderful cruise on the Magic.  This is a fun report, and full of details.

Danielle Thomas - June 1999

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service (Disney Cruise Line Buses)
  • Resort: BCR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Teen, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, Frequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: This is a very complete report of Danielle's cruise with her grandmother.   It's a very detailed report, includes many details about the planning of the trip as well as the perspective of a teenaged writer.

Kathy Kula - April 1999

  • Time of Year: Spring
  • Travel Method: Plane, Shuttle Service (DLC Bus)
  • Resort: BCR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: Kathy and her husband Stan celebrated Kathy's birthday at WDW, then followed up with a cruise on the Disney Magic.  This is a nicely detailed play-by-play report that I'm sure you'll enjoy reading.  Kathy's detailed meal descriptions are priceless!

Gaylene Gray - April 1999

  • Time of Year: Spring
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: OKWR, BWR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but almost everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: This was a loooooong trip to WDW with a Cruise attached to the back end.   What a way to punctuate a visit with the Mouse!  Gaylene's report is very nicely written (I wish I had her narrative skills), and includes details about scrapbooking (for those of you that are into that obsessive hobby) and a nice trip summary list.

Ted Owen - February 1999

  • Time of Year: Winter
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: Offsite
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult, Senior
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: Ted's report a ton of pre-trip issues including a fantastic description of the Vistana timeshare resort in depth.  The trip report itself is nicely detailed, too.  The family spent several days at Vistana before sailing on the Magic.

Lauren Halverson - January 1999

  • Time of Year: Winter
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: CR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Pre-School, Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie
  • Comments: Lauren's review is interesting because she and her husband have cruised before...so they have a reference point for comparison to other cruise lines.  The review of the land portion of the trip is good reading, too, and provides additional insights about planning a trip to WDW.

Dorothy Bond - October 1998

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car
  • Resort: OKWR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Teen, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: Dorothy's entire family (with kids aged 14, 11, and 4) enjoyed this trip.   The report focuses solely on the cruise portion of the trip.  It's written in a summary style, but is very nicely detailed.  Lots of information on the cruise...and how the various members of the family took to the newfangled type of vacation.

Becky L. Arnold - October 1998

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane
  • Resort: PBR, ASMR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Infrequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: This is a short report and written in a combination of summary style and play-by-play.  Becky gives alot of opinions that are worth considering when planning a trip - both to WDW and the Magic.

Jimmy Rose - September 1998

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane
  • Resort: GFRS
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Frequent
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  Jimmy and his wife had a wonderful 20th Anniversary trip at the Grand Floridian and on a Disney cruise.  The couple stayed in a category three cabin...and Jimmy did a wonderful job describing this piece of the floating palace that is the Magic!

Edward Owen - September 1998

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane, Rental Car, Shuttle Service
  • Resort: CBR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran, DVC Member
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: Ed's short report covers some of the details that one should be aware of when planning a Disney cruise.  The report covers only the cruise portion of the visit, he doesn't go into the WDW portion at all.  Even so, it's worth reading if you're thinking of cruising on the Magic.

Ed Knowles - September 1998

  • Time of Year: Fall
  • Travel Method: Plane
  • Resort: PBR
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Teen, Adult
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: Ed's report covers a nice few days at WDW followed by a wonderful cruise on the Magic.  The report is the most detailed one I've posted so far on the cruise.   Ed did a great job of describing life aboard the flagship of Disney's cruise lines.

Trey Clark - September 1998

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Personal Car
  • Ship: Disney Magic
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Adult
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments: Trey's report covers three days of a wonderful Disney cruise.  If you've wondered what the new Disney Magic is like, this is a great description!

Denise M. Williams - August 1998

  • Time of Year: Summer
  • Travel Method: Plane
  • Resort: PBR, WL
  • Ship: Disney Magic
  • Accommodations
  • Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Teen, Adult
  • Disney Cruise Experience Represented in Group: Rookie (but everyone is now, right?)
  • Comments:  Denise's report covers the Magic's sixth cruise.  She describes the ship and activities nicely.  With a teen and an elementary-aged daughter, there is a broad perspective to this report.
