Boris Beckert - March 1999 - Polynesian Resort
We visited WDW from March 23-27. Stayed at the Poly.
Highlights: We were first in line on a non-early entry day at MK, our kids got picked to be official greeters. That means they got to go in the the area just beyond the turnstiles and were given some kind of sparkly thing to wave to lead the countdown for park opening. The only setback was that the park passes I had put on our room keys at the hotel the night before, didn't work. So here we were, after waiting about 50 minutes at the head of the line, our kids were already selected as park greeters, and we were unable to get in past the turstiles. Fortunately, they took our tickets into some back room and got it straightened out with lightening speed. The poly, in contrast the YC/BC where we usually stay, seems pretty worn out. I think it needs a major facelift. The kids loved their night at the Neverland club. They want to go back again. BTW, they no longer have a character visit or any animal visits from Discovery island. MGM, while clean, etc, just wasn't for us. The entertainment seemed more passive. Dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge was a hoot. Unfortunately, that was the night we had the kids at the Neverland Club. We thought it was going to be a quiet meal. Not so! This was almost better than the hoop-de-due revue. I would definitely go back and take the kids along. That's all for now, Boris Beckert Boris.Beckert-1@tc.umn.edu
