Official Disney Events Schedule

I will update this list as new information becomes available.  Very little information on official special events is released by more than a few weeks prior to the event (although there are some exceptions).  If you're looking for more specific information or for information about an event that is not listed here, I'd suggest you contact Walt Disney World information at (407) 824-4321.

2003 Special Events

  • Extended through February 2003, "100 Years of Magic Celebration," in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Walter Elias Disney.  Click here, for more information on the new attractions and events going on at the Disney / MGM Studios.
  • January 12 – WDW Marathon which features both a Full and a Half Marathon that is run through and between the parks at WDW.
  • January 30 - February 2; February 3-6 - Dream Week... Live, Learn & Play with all time Braves Legends!!! -- Suit-up and play with Braves all times greats and make your dream come true!! You've dreamed about it since childhood. Now live it. This is your once-in-a-lifetime chance to enter the world of Major League Baseball and live your dream alongside many of your childhood heroes.This camp is open to males age 30 and over. ENTRY FEE $3195; For more information call 800-888-4376 ext. 200
  • February 27 - March 28 – Atlanta Braves Spring Training exhibition games at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. Tickets go on sale January 4. Buy tickets in person at the Disney Wide World of Sports box office, or call Ticketmaster at 407-839-3900.

  • March 30 – First-ever Walt Disney World Inline Marathon. The race will feature a 13.1-mile loop course that begins and finishes at Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex. Call (407) 896-1160 to have a registration form mailed to you. Get more information at the Disney Wide World of Sports Web site.

  • April 19, 20, 26, 27, 3, Grad Nights at the Magic Kingdom (Magic Kingdom closes early each of these days!).  Here's a link to the official site of Disney's Youth Programs group.

  • April 25 - June 8, 10th Annual International Flower & Garden Festival, Epcot.  My wife, Barbara, provides a wonderful photo tour of the 2000 International Flower & Garden Festival and another photo tour of the Topiary presented at the 2001 International Flower & Garden Festival.  If you're a garden fan, and can plan your visit around the Festival, you'll be glad you did!

  • May 16-18, 23-25, 30 - June 1, 6-8, 13-15, Star Wars Weekends at Disney-MGM Studios. There's a ton of information about this special event at StarWars.Com.
  • June 3-9, "Gay Day."  Read more about this non-Disney-sponsored event by clicking here.
  • June 14 – “Mickey’s Toon Town of Pins” at the Magic Kingdom
  • July 4  Fourth of July Fun at the Walt Disney World Resort
  • August 18-23, 5th Disney Animation Event
  • September (dates unconfirmed), Night of Joy, contemporary Christian event at the Magic Kingdom.
  • September 19-21 – “Disney’s Pin Celebration” at Epcot
  • October - (dates unconfirmed) Walt Disney World Golf Classic - Annual PGA tournament. In the past, the even has been held at the Lake Buena Vista Golf Club, but has been run over at the Magnolia and Palm golf courses the past couple of years.  Visit the official site for more information and to buy tickets!
  • October (dates unconfirmed) from 7:00 pm - 12:00 am each night, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom
  • October - November (dates unconfirmed), Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
  • November (dates unconfirmed), 8th Annual ABC Super Soap Weekend
  • Late November - Early December (dates unconfirmed) from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am each night, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom
  • Late November - Early January (dates unconfirmed), Holidays Around the World at Epcot (including the Candlelight Processional)
  • Late November - Early January (dates unconfirmed), Christmastime in the City at Downtown Disney
  • Late November - Early January (dates unconfirmed), Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at Disney-MGM Studios
  • December 31 New Year's Eve at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island
  • December 31 New Year's Eve at Atlantic Dance on Disney's Boardwalk
  • December 31 New Year's Eve at Animal Kingdom
  • December 31 New Year's Eve at Cirque du Soleil
  • December 31 New Year's Eve at Disney-MGM Studios
