Ease of WDW Park Access:

Via car, the hotel is within minutes of all of the theme
parks. However, you do not get the complimentary parking that you
get when staying at a Disney owned hotel.
Buses run from the hotel to all parks, including Pleasure Island.
However, I think that the buses to the MK stop at the TTC. We did
not have to wait long for the buses. I think the posted schedule
is every 20 minutes. The buses are complimentary.

Accommodations Review:

During our stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations,
so there was a lot of construction going on in the lobby. However,
the room was lovely and included a king bed, a pull-out sleeper sofa,
a large bathroom with a garden sized tub with a second telephone,
hair dryer, and coffee maker. Our children were in cribs, so we requested
and received two full-size cribs on wheels. |
Rate/Night (for your stay):
|
$99 + tax (AAA rate). I priced rooms for a stay in 3/99
and was told that the rate for a standard room (2 double beds) was
$109.65 + tax with a AAA discount. A deluxe room with a king sized
bed was $131.75 + tax with an AAA discount. Note: Disney CRO cannot
give you the AAA rate. You have to call the hotel directly. |

We stayed at this hotel for one night during the summer
of 1996 to be with family who were vacationing in Orlando. Our kids
were still in cribs then, so we could have a king sized bed. The room
was very spacious, even with 2 cribs in the room. The bathroom was
definitely deluxe and had a huge garden style tub. The only reason
that we don’t anticipate returning to this hotel any time soon is
that they have 2 double beds in the standard rooms instead of 2 queen
beds. Now that the kids are out of cribs, we definitely need 2 beds
in the room and a double bed is a bit cramped for us!! Otherwise,
we like the hotel!!
Because the hotel is not owned by Disney, early entry privileges
do not apply, but that does not make a big difference to us. Also,
CRO told me that they cannot book packages at the Village hotels
because they are not owned by Disney, but I’m sure any travel agent
could book a package here if you desired one.
